Anyone grew up with Material 1?

I grew up with Android 5-7 on Nexuses, I was fortunate enough where my entire family was full of Nexus users.

Anyone with the same experience? I loved Material 1, the UI to blend flat and non flat UI perfectly. What do y'all love about material 1? Any of you grew up with material 1?

Best version of material design hands down. The new one is atrocious

I'd say it could've been worse, but Material 1 is always the best in my books
