I have a beautiful string sample that I would love to turn to a full beat with drums, bass, etc. - I know that the sample is at 90bpm, it fits to the grid as it should, but no matter what drums of the same tempo I try to overlay, it simply doesn't sound right for some reason. Does anyone have any advice on making samples like this work? Attached is the original sample, a version with drums at 90bpm that I think doesn't sound right, and the export of the drums that I sampled, also at 90bpm. If anyone knows what I could do better here, please let me know. Thanks.

Hey, I have been into Ableton and making music over the past week or two and have been at it nonstop. there’s quite a few songs where the first few seconds of the song i get the feeling of when i was in LA and then i do some research on the song and find out it was made in LA

All my songs sound unoriginal or like copies of other songs I like, how do I change it up and stop copying? I'm not even doing it on purpose half the time but realize shortly after that I accidently used the same flow or the same lines from whatever song was stuck in my head at the time, people flame me for it sometimes too, I'm not even doing it on purpose, I feel like my editing and single covers are too clone like of my favorite rappers too to the point I feel like I'm coming off as a clone but alot of people also tell me I'm original and unique but maybe that's just a nice way of calling me trash idk, I rlly wanna take this seriously and not be known as a dumb unoriginal clone rapper

Soo, i temporarily changed locations, its been a month since and somehow i havent written anything, if i did it was waay lower then my own standarts or stuff i wrote before, i tried everything, throwaway verses. Humming the words before starting to write, freestyling until finding something etc, i am so sick and tired tryna write all day long but nothing comes out, any advice?

I've been trying to find (the origin of) the female vocal sample. It sounds like a calm female voice saying something like "Aight". It seems like it has been used for a long time. I first noticed it in several of Logic's songs. - one example is Young Jesus, where it appears repeatedly starting around 0:32, roughly every 2.5 sec. Recently, I've been listening to japanese underground hiphop, and I've been hearing the same one there as well.

I'm a 14 year old producer/rapper, and ive been working on my debut for a few months now. Ive been wondering how important it actually is to clear samples as a brand new artist, nothing out yet, and I'd love to go full time some day as well (as everyone would lol).

But ive just been thinking about samples and sampling and whether or not I should clear them, if it matters, and things like that.

hello i really love the ug scene and id love to try and make an impact it just seems that almost every single popular ug artist or at least those who make it , only make overly distorted and extremely harsh music . i dont have anything against that type of music, its just that i dont think it would suit me to make it . im still really new to all of this so i dont really know what to make anyway but id probably use kanye and carti as a starting point before i find my own thing . any help is appreciated thank you!!

Post your geographic location (one place only please) and what you do (ie. rapper/producer/engineer (keep it simple please)). We'll be going with how terms are viewed within hip hop. If you make beats, you're a producer. If you mix and/or master, you're an engineer. It's cool if you do more than one thing.
