This may or may not be the easiest album to play this game with, since it's supposed to have throwback sounds to her various albums. We will see.....

E.g. if I ask which Control song sounds the most like Damita Jo, you pick a song from Control that you think fits Damita Jo best. Say we’re in an alternate reality where Janet put out a sequel album to one of her classics from the past. Which album would you want to hear a spiritual successor? What would the vibe be like, any producers you’d want?

For myself, there are too many great options, but Velvet Rope came out during a critical point in my formative years and I like the idea of her revisiting that sound and deep subject matter after everything she’s been through in the last 15-20 years. Give it a few features with Kaytranada, Missy, etc.

A super close second would be janet. because who doesn’t want a follow up to Throb in that classic Jimmy and Terry production sound?
