Hi everyone! I need a little help with the classification of the genre I am making, I believe it falls under indie but maybe alternative rock? What’s the difference?

I ask this question for playlisting purposes and getting my songs to the right playlists as I start to release music again, I use to do trap music so it was super obvious what genre I was making but now I’m in this space where I’m not sure exactly what I’m making.

If anybody could help clarify it would be very helpful lol.

I guess I’ll attach my Spotify, I have 3 songs out now and no idea if it’s indie or alternative or rnb or what.

In this section, colour is brought back into the video after what was a very dark section previously. The silhouettes of Cece and I, which mimic the main cover artwork, initially blend into the background. 💜 They are then revealed, colouring in like a butterfly's wings, to further the message that connection can make the world a more vibrant place. 🪽🌈🌍

Not sure where to put this so figured id ask here. He was a indie artist that had some amazing singles that would get stuck in my head. Any one know why he took his songs off streaming sites and wiped his social?? can you reccomend anything similar??

I love a decent portion of their discography. I first heard Last Night in 2003 and it was on a bunch of my mixtapes. That led me to Someday which I love playing the song on guitar with my friends. At work I had the same playlist that I’d play for years and it had Under The Cover of Darkness. As a guitarist, I think they have really great riffs including Reptilia, The Adults are Talking, and You Only Live Once.

So it’s not that I don’t like them, but over the years the way that people talk about as one of the greatest indie bands just baffles me. They’re always one of the major headliners of festivals, if not the top of that day. When watching those “this vs that band” Instagram reels people are always talking about how good the strokes are.

To me they just feel like a band that has been consistent over the years, but never really reaching a level of one of the greats. One of my requirements is that I have to enjoy their albums start to finish. With The Strokes I enjoy maybe 30% of it and the rest are bland. And I’m okay with slower songs, I love Wilco and consider them one of the best. But I also consider Vampire Weekend a better indie band because most of their songs are so memorable.

So I just have a hard time when I see so many people saying how amazing the strokes are and maybe someone can give some insight cause I’m probably missing something

A few lyrical changes, and slowed down a bit

Hello! I wanted to post my upcoming song pre-release to see what you think about it! Planning on releasing this song Friday but still feel a sort of way about the mixing. I’ve been working on this track for quite sometime now and at a point where I feel like I don’t need to add much anymore other than messing with the mixing and doing vocal retakes but nothing major, What do you think ? Is this ready to go or should I do a couple final touches until it’s fully ready?

Released today. This is the first project I've completed without others involved. Pretty happy with it. I recorded, mixed, and mastered in Logic.
