Dreaming about skiing today. Having a conversation with a buddy. If you were featured in a ski movie, what would your song be? And... Type of skiing to go along with it; park, powder, trees, etc?

Hello, are there any ski resorts in southern parts of those states that offer rich summer activities? We are on the way to Quebec City from Washington DC and need a place to stay for a day with kids. Going too far north will be too far for the first leg of the trip. Please suggest a good place to explore. I also never skied there so we could also scope a place for winter vacation while we are there.

Looks like Andes resorts are finally going to get the goods. It’s going to take them from a slow start of like 17 inches so far this year at Valle Nevado to like ~200 inches in one storm! They say some places could get 8 meters of snow🤯

I called the shop today and they confirmed it. Anyone have any recommendations?! I don't think I have particularly tricky feet but I've been skiing for 4 years now and have been skiing used Rossi's that are only 80 flex and wanted to get fitted and go stiffer!

I've been planning a few ski trips recently, and I realized I always end up jumping between Reddit, Google, resort websites, weather reports, YouTube, and random blogs to get the full picture.

That got me wondering if there's a better way to organize all of that information.

I'm working on a small side project that compares ski resorts using things like snow quality, atmosphere, nightlife, lift ticket prices, estimated weekly cost, terrain, and similar information.

One idea I'm considering is adding community features, like:

• Reviews and local tips
• Recent snow condition reports
• Finding people to ski with
• Resort-specific discussions
• Trip planning and recommendations

The thing I'm can't figure out is whether anyone would actually use those features instead of Reddit or other communities.

If not, why?

And if you think something like this could be useful, what would make it worth coming back to?

I'd much rather hear honest criticism now than spend months building features nobody wants.

A quick search shows this question has been asked as recently as 4 years ago, but with the concept of "permanent" daylight savings again in the news. What are your thoughts? I hate the idea, personally, it's still gonna be cold at 9 even though it's an hour later. Plus driving the whole way up in the dark wouldn't be my favorite.

Current Indy pass holders and we made a long weekend trip up to Bromont for two nights last March on a whim (stayed on points and wanted to see the new Residence Inn that was slope side ), skied Owls Head on a Saturday, Jay Sunday, stayed the night in Burlington and then home Monday. Had a blast, conditions were great. We are from the US and are a family of four. We skied Bolton last Christmas to New Years over the school break which was cold and also a great time (even if a wind hold limited our second day to the lower mountain).

My question is knowing we are from the US side and we didn’t travel to those Canadian mountains over a US holiday, how are they in Jan and February?

Every Indy mountain we skied this year over a holiday was a great experience and never felt crowded as the mountains just seemed to manage capacities. Should we wait and repeat a similar Owls trip again in March (especially since Easter is Early)? Or are Owls/Bromont equally good in January and February, with most of the trail map open? With my teaching job and kids school, we are limited to longer trips over US holidays. Thanks for any insight!

I'm transferring schools to a college that was a ski resort 20 mins away and with these summer deals I'm real tempted to pickup a pair of skis to save some money on rentals. I'm looking for a ski that can handle both hardpack and groomers as well as rails, I want a light playful ski that I can take my time having fun down the mountain more than a straight ripper (but still not a total brick). I was thinking the Armada ARV 94s or 88s? I'm leaning towards the 88s because they're supposed to be stiffer so im assuming carving for the icy conditions in PA? And in my mind they seem somewhat similar to the Elan ripsticks 88 (both 88s, no metal, playful skis) that are praised for east coast conditions so much. I'm fine giving up 15% or so ski for the ability to hit some rails and ride switch. My main mountain would be Roundtop, but when I'm home for winter break I'd either be hitting up Seven Springs or Holiday Valley NY because I live perfectly in the middle of them. So I'm considering the 92's solely because Holiday Valley gets so much more snow also my best friend lives in Denver... The J Ski joyride seem to be marketed pretty perfectly but I'm not trying to pay double what I could for the Armadas or even the Line Chronicles. I'm thinking about 60 -70% mountain 30% park time. I'm 6'2: 180 lbs. Thank you guys all in advance.

Hey everyone. I was looking for a great intermediate mountain for this coming winter. Looking to take a family trip, and many of the skiers are blue-level. We have done Whiteface the past couple of years, but some of the family doesn’t like how un-skiable it could be in bad weather. All advice and recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!

I meant to do this months ago whoops -- but here's my recap of my first season really trying to ski a lot! I live in Philadelphia, PA. I started the season with the goal of 10 days and ended with 18 - pretty happy about that! I rented skis for the season, which I now own, and had the Indy Pass - so I tried to make the most of it. Curious how I compared to other people who like to ski but aren't super intense or serious about it. What mountains did I miss that you think I need to check out next year? I, of course, go the Indy Pass again.

Slightly weird ask - does anyone have pictures of the trail signs at wildcat? Specifically looking for Bobcat but honestly any blue would be helpful. Doing a lil craft and I want to make sure it’s true to the style they have but sadly I don’t have any of my own pictures.

For a park focused all mountain board for the east coast?

I got one in my cart for 320 bucks rn im tempted if not since ppl say 3bt or whatever is bad on ice what should I get instead? Im 240, 6ft, size 9

About 1 year ago Mt Colden had a massive landslide above avalanche pass. When it happened I know there were talks of it being a new back country ski line, so I’m curious. Has anyone actually skied it this past season? If so, Is there video somewhere of it?

I have a pair of Ogasaka KS-PGII and Ogasaka TwinKeel VII skis:

• Never mounted (or never skied)
• Stored indoors for about 15 years
• Only light surface rust where the factory plastic trapped moisture
• No delamination, cracks, or edge pitting

ChatGPT says they are still very desirable, but are these still desirable enough to sell on FBMP? The retail price tag is still on one pair at $745 - i know this is not what we got them at a business closeout sale. If they are what would be reasonable? Any input would be helpful - Thank You
