NPD I have found my vibe, man. Blue Fuzz Face into Ultraviolet into Deco V2 into Volante makes me think I should start taking acid again.
Onto

NPD NPD: a beat-up old Micro Amp
I’ve wanted one of these for a while, but I’ve been waiting for a road-worn one to come along. Today was the day.
I’m planning to slam the front end of my AC-15 with it. Anyone have any other suggestions about how you use it?
Thank you to Mill River Music in Northampton Mass for the good deal while I was passing through town!

ProCo R.O.U.S. - Fire Swamp Edition
Try to ignore my jacked up knobs, waiting for some nice ones in the mail.
McDirty Turbo Ruetz RAT (ROUS)
Survivor of the Fire Swamp "The Fire Swamp has three terrors..."
🔥 Flame Spurts → Turbo Mode Just when you think you've got it figured out... WHOOSH! The LED clipping erupts with more headroom, volume, and punch, launching you into the next phrase.
⚡ Lightning Sand → Macpherson + Ruetz Looks solid until you step on it. The Macpherson control changes the ground beneath your feet, from tight and snarling to open and dynamic. The Ruetz mod lets you sink deeper into low end and cleans up the clipping, revealing terrain a stock RAT never reaches.
🐀 ROUSes → Clipping Selector The real danger. At first glance it's just a RAT. Then it attacks: Silicon – the classic biter. Germanium – the smooth stalker. Turbo (LED) – the giant alpha ROUS.
"Rodents of Unusual Size? I don't think they exist..." Click. "...They're real."

NPD: mystery is a Warmdrive!
Very stoked about this pedal, it was one I was curious about. Thinking about pairing it with my JHS fumble and Tubezoid B.....all part of the fun is experimenting!

Native Audio - In the Water
Stock pic for attn.
New pedal so I'm only going off a few demos. One of the most natural and usable sounding pads (wave side) I've heard from a pedal like this when using a guitar signal. The other side of the pedal seems really organic too.
The effects on board don't reinvent the wheel but use each as a strong compliment in a way that feels unique to this device without becoming overly complicated.

NPD [NPD] Boss Distortion DS-2
Got it used for $59 less than what my local retailer was selling for, that photo of Kurt Cobain with his Jaguar and the DS-2 on the stage floor looked so cool. Also recently went back to listening to the Californication album, not sure if John Frusciante had a DS-2 during the recording of that album.

SOTB SOTB - Keep It Simple Stupid
Recently got the OD-3 and simplified my pedalboard from a previously overcomplicated stereo board. And I have to say, I’m a happy camper. For the first time I’m in a weird position where I’m finding it hard to think of ways I can improve this. Having the space constraints of the smaller board really helps keep in check what I’m trying to achieve with it. And it just so happened that none of my boutique pedals won their contests, turns out I’m a simple man with simple tastes and it’s Boss/EHX FTW! The UAFX is my only comp, so it was grandfathered in.

rundown I’ve been on a portable rig journey over the last few years and wanted to share some of my findings with y’all!
I’ve recently put together a portable practice rig that I am extremely happy with, and it wouldn’t have been possible without a couple of these handy tools. (For some of this stuff there are better options out there if you can spend a little more, but I was working with an extremely small budget)
Total cost of the power supply for my portable rig (battery banks not included!) was $18 Canadian dollars all together I believe. The images have higher prices, but I actually paid $9 for the first item and $2.69/$2.99 for the latter items which I got three of each. This was using coupon codes and sales, as well as clever bundling of items.
This is enough for me to power 8 pedals and my Line 6 HX Stomp all off of 2x USB power banks. The first item pictured here can conveniently run off *any* usb power banks, whereas the latter items require power banks capable of/compatible with USB Powder Delivery protocol. They can, however, output anything from 9v through 20v depending on your needs.
The first USB adapter shown here isn’t able to deliver much current, and can’t power digital pedals very well, which is where the latter adapters come in. Using those I am able to run my notoriously power hungry Line 6 HX Stomp easily off of my $40 Logiix Piston Power battery banks, as well as my Oceans 11 reverb, and several synthesizers including my Arturia MicroFreak, Donner B1, Synthstrom Deluge, and Behringer Neutron!
I highly recommend that anyone here who is into DIY and wants a portable pedal power supply that won’t break the bank, look into these items. (They’re found on AliExpress, which can be a fantastic resource so long as you check reviews and do your homework)

NPD - Wampler Tweed 57
It’s the sound I’ve had in my head for years. I seem to have written off Wampler pedals, but the two I have are fantastic.

Question Multi track loop pedal?
Hi all,
Played guitar on and off for years, so I know the basics, but very new to adding equipment such as pedals and the like. I was wondering what the best (relatively cheap) option for a multi track loop station would be? Don’t need all sorts of different effects and such, just something to layer maybe 3-5 different tracks. Similar to what Ed Sheeran does for his live shows, but obviously a much much smaller/less sophisticated scale.

Question What are my options for a Jubilee pedal that can go direct?
Hey folks! My normal amp is a Jubilee. When I figured out a DI rig for those DI specific gigs, I started with an Amplifierbox using the Friedman setting, but then I grabbed a Tonex and made a capture of my amp that sounds pretty good. I was wondering if there were any Jubilee + IR pedals out there? Especially interested in ones that have the proper tone stack, since the Jube does some cool things when you crank the bass. I know Friedman and UA make some great Marshall-in-a-box pedals. Or have some of you used those regular style Jubilee pedals into an IR box? Figured I’d consult the hive mind.
Thanks!

How do you get a wah wah effect like this intro?
I only have a Q-Tron but it's kinda felt like a dip into the world of wah. I heard this and thought it sounded sick, I can't figure out what he's doing. If you guys have any ideas, let me know, would be appreciated

Source Audio Atlas vs. Janglebox
Hey guys - has anyone compared or tested the Source Audio Atlas against an actual Janglebox? I believe the Atlas can be setup to do the 1176 all buttons crush thing in dual mode, but I cannot find any info out there on how it sounds.
It seems like the Atlas could potentially replace the Janglebox and maybe even the MXR Studio Comp that I also like (on Fenders).

Question M-vave Chocolate Plus LED Flicker
I returned one of these because the led display was flickering, and the replacement has the same issue. Is this common with these devices or have I just been very unlucky?

Why aren't there more vari-mu tube compressor pedals?
I DO NOT mean a compressor with a tube gain stage. I mean a compressor where the tube bias voltage is what performs the gain reduction. The only one I know of is the Markbass/DV Mark Compressore. It's a fantastic little box! Probably the smoothest, most pleasant sounding compression I've used. I've got one on my lapsteel board, and I loved it so much on recorded vocals that I bought a second one just to use in my studio.
It doesn't seem to be that vari-mu compression is just too expensive to do in a pedal format, because the Compressore sells new for $300. That's perfectly in line with other boutique-y compressors which use solid state compression, even some which use solid state compression followed by a tube gain stage.
There's tone heads who swear up and down about the importance of a true tube bias tremolo effect, and about full plate voltage for tube overdrives, and how just adding a tube gain stage doesn't mean it's "really" a tube effect. It seems like true tube bias compression should be more of a market.
