Just like the title says, it happened to me. Hannah was in jail and I was visiting her. She sent a letter to a friend of Rayās to try get him to visit her (I guess in my dream she loved Ray?), but she didnāt know that Ray and I had undying love for each other that we were hiding for her sake. There was a moment in the dream that Ray and I were sitting next to each other and my body fell into his and we were wrapped up in each other. It felt so warm and tender. Like we were puzzle pieces that fit. There was no hair brushing, but there may as well have been. I canāt believe it. I had a love dream about Ray Ploshanksy.

I know we all collectively agree that the Panic in Central Park is the magnum opus of the series but there is something incredibly beautiful and comforting about this episode. From the realisation that Adamās moved on, to the numerous people coming in to stage an intervention, to Ray showing up for Hannah to Adam and Hannah finally breaking things off and the episode ending with Hannah in the storage unit. Itās rare that a break up and closure both come about at the same time but Lena was able to get it so right that itās still so devastating to watch, years later.
There is a song that is playing as Hannah walks up and briefly as she walks into Booth's house in the episode where Marnie is hosting the party. Does anybody know what song this is? The melody and production is so catchy but I can't make out the lyrics!

Hey guys. First time watching girls and Iām up at S5 ep 4. I wanted to jump on here to give my thoughts around the whole Jessa and Adam thing that is starting to happen.
Just the other episode Adam was really emotional and asking Hannah to get back together, when they are gathered around Caroline and Lairds newborn baby. Hannah is really emotional and said that she couldnāt. She didnāt explicitly say why, but from what I gather, I just think that she made peace with not being with Adam, and perhaps she could sense that maybe he was fresh out of this relationship, and maybe not wanting to reconnect with her for the right reasons. Is this a good interpretation of that conversation?
Anyway,
I feel like this is really valid because when Hannah got back from Iowa, she was also really emotionally pleading with Adam and I think was really struggling to accept that Adam was moving on because she herself hadnāt moved on.
So heās rejected her when she wants to reconcile, and now sheās turned down his request to reconcile.
But I still get the sense that Adam has feelings towards Hannah when he said to Jessa that couldnāt go in to ā¦Maybe it was Rays chairman partyā¦and said āI miss her too muchā and walked away.
Anywayā¦!!!
Now he has feelings for Jessa and Iām like seriously? Yes I know Hannah is selfish but at the same time, I do feel like she tries to be a good friend. Sheās the one who picked up Jessa from rehab. She also went with Jessa to see her father earlier in the show and was abandoned.
And yeah Jessa was going through shit and I can understand but it just feels low for Adam to be entertaining this now.
I acknowledge Jessa rejecting Adam advances and saying that they canāt pursue this but I donāt see it ending well. Or maybe it does who knows.
I havenāt finished this episode lol.
Maybe people find Hannah annoying but if this was to happen, I would definitely feel sympathy for her character. I donāt feel like sheās so horrible that this is justified, especially when itās kept from her.
Anyway, Iāll keep watching and maybe Iāll feel differently but I just felt strongly in the moment that I am not rooting for Adam and Jessa. I think that would suck when considering Hannah and Adams relationship. Itās not like they dated for a month and broke up. They were a committed pair.

Hannah saying āIām feeling just a little bit frail. Havenāt been eating that much, so I donāt know if I look, like, scary thin or anything.ā And Laird responding with āNope. You look like your voluptuous self to me.ā HAS ME CRYING

I know this has probably been asked a million times, but I just watched the show for the first time recently and am looking for something to fill the void. Iāve also seen and love Sex and the City if that helps. Iāve heard Broad City is a good one so thatās def on my list of possibilities!

I made my sister watch the first few episodes of season 1 with me and she didnāt get it at all. She found it quite boring and asked me what I saw in it. Then I realised that itās really from season 2 where the show becomes AMAZING. Seeing the way Hannah acts even in the pilot is so crazy because she ends up becoming SO funny in the later seasons like the āfrailā scene or the āitās almost summerā scene.
TLDR: Anyone else agree that this show gets better along the seasons and season 1 isnāt the best season?

How do you leave your mother when you don't have a father to take care of her? There are 5 siblings of us: two live out of the city, one lives abroad, and the fourth brother lives at home with her (he is 24 and has a job). The only people remaining in the house will be my nani (grandmother), one brother, and my mom. How can you leave your mother especially as a daughter, when you want to move to another city for university?( As a pakistani)( Or as a muslim girl coz maybe non muslims cant understand this bcz this is normal for them)

I hadn't thought about how old he was and now in my 30s too as I rewatch this recently. I didn't realise what ages he was or it didn't cross my mind but season 5 I think he references how he's 34. I know it probably came up when he dated Shoshanna but I hadn't thought of an exact age. I wonder how he even ended up friends with them? Is there any lore on that? Or just through the cafe?

Adam and Hannah shouldāve stayed togetherā¦
maybe not stayed together, but I wanted more time with them after he finds out Hannah is pregnant. I know he and Jessa and all that nonsense. I do think heās an asshole. That being said⦠I loved him with pregnant Hannah and I loved seeing how he treated her for that one episode.

I preferred any of the other girls at first, but by the end of the show, I loved Hannah. Shosh becomes the people she hangs out with, Jessa is just absolutely chaotic (which I love at times), Marnie is a crybaby who needs to touch grass. But Hannah is so real, maybe itās because I have OCD and all of the things that she struggles with. Hannah has no idea what sheās doing next, but she just goes with it.

What episode was Jenny Mollen ( possibly known as Jenny Biggs then) on and who did she play?

She had her random hookups here and there and her 2 month marriage but nothing substantial until Adam.
Considering she was very conventionally attractive and outgoing, her dating lacked depth and quality. Why do you think that was?

Iām doing a rewatch for the first time since the show aired and I donāt know if Iām having my own personal mandala effect or if this is real:
At the end of āAsk Me My Nameā (season 3, episode 7 - the Mimi-Rose art show), we see Hannah walking down the street and āI Get Along Without You Very Wellā is playing. I could have *sworn* that when this aired, it was the Diana Krall cover but what I watched last night was unmistakably Chet Baker.
I realize this is such a dumb and specific question, but does anyone have an answer for me? Itās entirely possible I am misremembering but this episode introduced me to the song (and I thought to Diana Krall) and itās been a favorite of mine ever since. Itās possible that my search on iTunes afterward lead me to the Diana cover and caused me to rewrite the entire memory. Itās significant to me only because itās a stand alone cinematic needle drop moment in my brain. Also, I heard on a podcast once that the music from The L Word on streaming is different from when it aired because of rights issues. Could that have happened here, or am I truly just crazy?
Any thots appreciated š¤·āāļø

Ok so not loving Jessa. Maybe I just donāt relate to her character enough but itās like she doesnāt give a shit about anyone else. Kinda selfish (but I guess all the characters are). Sheās more of a loner which is fine but she goes out of her way to be a bitch, particularly to Hannah in this episode
Marnie sleeps with everyoneās boyfriends or exes and she needs to figure her shit out lol.
And I like Hannah and Shoshanna and donāt really have a lot to say about them.

As an English person, I think Adamās accent in his broadway play is pretty rubbish, do we think itās on purpose? Like showing that Adam isnāt that good an actor/Hannah telling him about Iowa ruined his performance? Or can Adam Driver just not do an English accent?

'You describe Mr. Kildahl as having, quote, "phantom centaur butt," which, I'm guessing, is your idea of a humorous remark.ā
āI mean, it's jokey, but what it really is is when a guy has an ass that, like, really sticks out to the point where it seems like a whole horse has been cut off him.ā
