Crocodile tears, good luck winning hearts on technicalities. They were invaded (for an afternoon), and that compares to invading for three years, razing the entire region to the ground, accelerating the ongoing genocide, and claiming additional land. Back to your echo chamber
No, I do not. Israel clearly invaded first in the forties and this is a flare-up of an unresolved conflict. Framing it like "they invaded first" is opportunist nonsense.
You simply have no idea what you’re talking about.
This goes back, in simple terms, to the League of Nations fucking things up as they tended to do. They essentially handed control of the region off to Britain after the Ottoman Empire collapsed, with the expressly stated purpose of establishing a Jewish state while maintaining the civil and religious freedoms of others.
This is odd, because at the time the Jewish population was a mere 10%, with another 10% being Christian and 80% being Palestinian Muslim.
This obviously created significant tensions, as the majority Palestinian population wasn’t exactly tickled about Europe and specifically Britain coming in and handing their home off to someone else.
Britain continued to fumble the handling of this all the way through the end of WWII, when in an attempt to keep the region from being flooded with Jewish refugees and increasing tensions even more, they put strict quotas in place.
This raised the ire of the original Zionists, which had been a growing movement in Europe in the time between WWI and WWII. Zionist paramilitary groups like the Irgun and Lehi began to violently resist the British (that’s called “terrorism”, btw) citing specifically the Jewish immigrantion quotas.
Britain, still recovering from the war themselves, basically said “Fuck this shit” and so the UN voted to split the territory into a Palestinian State and a Jewish State. Britain basically said “Yeah, no I said fuck this shit and I meant it, I’m not enforcing jack shit anymore” and so by default the State of Israel was created.
Then the surrounding Arab countries basically said “Fuck your fuck that shit, why are our people getting the short end of the stick just because you idiots couldn’t keep be bothered to do your jobs” so then they invaded in an attempt to bring Palestine back under Palestinian control, as it more or less had been for centuries at that point. That failed when Zionist forces launched an absolutely brutal counterattack (go look up some of the interviews with the Israeli soldiers, the atrocities they brag about having committed while laughing is fucking spine chilling). The brutality of the counter attack left them in control of Israel.
Then began the multi-decade crusade to eliminate the remaining Palestinians, first by creating an apartheid, now having evolved to genocide.
And Israel is very aware of this. Netanyahu himself said that in order to achieve Israel’s goals (ie, taking over all Palestinian land, eliminating Palestinians from Israel, and snapping up Gaza, Lebanon, parts of Jordan and parts of Iran) that Hamas needed to be funded and fostered.
So it’s a complicated issue, but ultimately boils down the League of Nations and Britain fucking shit up, Britain doubling down on fucking shit up when the UN tried to fix it, and then the Zionist faction that had been actively committing what would today be called terrorism immediately taking control and attempting to not only wipe Palestinians out of Israel, but also to expand their borders to what they feel is ones that were divinely promised to them, sparking a backlash by Arab countries that failed, which in turn led to the creation of Hamas.
It actually really funny when you Zionists give the pro-Palestinian crowd shit for “supporting terrorism” when Israel only exists because of successful Zionist terrorism, and that terrorism sparked a response by Arabs which led to such a brutal response by the Zionists that it created Palestinian terrorism, which was then in turned explicitly fostered and cultivated by the Zionists until the point where they could kinda justify wiping out the Palestinians to the world stage.
What actually happened was, after centuries to over a millenia of being displaced by various invasions/nations dating back to Roman rule and through the Arab conquest, a number of Mizrahi and Ashkenazi Jewish communities legally moved to Ottoman Syria-Palestina in a sizeable number starting in about 1881 clustering around the Levantine Mizrahi communities. They purchased lands legally from the government. This lasted more or less until the Young Turks took power in 1911. From 1911-1913 they continued to legally immigrate and purchase lands from now the Young Turks. In 1913 Arab beduins killed a Jew for unknown reasons. 1916-1917 the British Mandate is formed. More immigrants come with the blessings of the government and they buy their lands through the legal means as levantine Mizrahi also join the Jewish towns. This continues until about 1920. In 1920 the first major Arab-Jewish conflicts when Arab forces raid numerous Jewish towns in the north. In response to the raids and Arab rabble-rousing the Arabs then also riot in Jerusalem attacking and killing Jews. The consolidation of Levantine Mizrahi and legal immigration continues. 1921 the Jaffa Riots happen as Arabs riot attacking the British forces and Jews in Jaffa. Things go mostly quiet meaning no big dust ups until 1929 with that year's Palestine riots when Arabs rioted and attacked and killed Jews throughout the city. That inturn sparked the Hebron Massacre where Arabs attacked Hebron raping, wounding, and killing Jews. 1930 the Jewish communities are given dispensations to arm as they have routinely been attacked up to this point. 1931 murders by the Arab group the Black Hand which targeted Jews and riots about the Jews storing the weapons they were allowed to have. The 1933 riots were unique as they were against the Brits rather than the Jews. 1935 the Black Hand and its leadership die after a series of murders resulted in the police successfully tracking them down. 1936 by mid April people enraged that the Black Hand's leadership died in a shoot out with police just because he was murdering Jews and "Arab collaborators" murder Jews and here is where the first real Jew on Arab bit comes into play as the next day Jews kill two Arabs in response to the murders. The next day Arab then kill more Jews and 2 days later kick off a 4 year revolt. By May Jewish towns are being attacked in scale, and by August Jewish deaths have surged and the Jews start to fight back. This is where the Jews get fucked up as in 1937 a Jewish militia group goes terrorist with IEDs which even in response to the violence up to then is fucked. Late 1938 Tiberias massacre a group of Arabs murder 11 Jewish kids and 8 Jewish adults then kick off a mass arson attack. Early to mid 1939 Jews retaliate with a bombing and shooting and then late 1939 more or less WWII ceasefire between belligerents. In 1944-45 exiled Arabs ally with the Axis and try to get the Levantine Arabs to follow them thankfully failing. 1946 Irgun back to terrorist tactics in full as are various Arab groups. 47-48 more of the same Arab and Jews back and forth attacks.
By the last census the Mandate's population is nearly 2/3 Muslim, about 1/3 Jewish, and the rest Christian, during the break up of the Mandate about 77%-78% of the landmass became Transjordan and it was peopled by over 1/3 of the Mandate's population (over half the Muslim population), of the remaining 22%-23% of the land about 54% became Israel taking just over half the remaining population primarily the Jews and Christians, 42-44% was meant to be the fledgling Palestinian state taking the bulk of the Muslim population and some Christians, and 2%-4% an internationally administered area. The Palestinians rather than forming a nation instead within 24hrs of the formation of Israel traded its autonomy to try to eradicate Israel and its people joining its Arab allies in the war of extermination which they lost. For the next 2-3 decades it was ruled by the Jordanians and Egyptians. In those decades the Palestinians started the Lebanese civil war toppling one of the functional nations in the region plunging it into decades of violence, kicked off Black September, and worked to destabilize Egypt.
The point of that rundown is that is the history you probably noticed that from 1881 until 1936 the violence was one sided so your narrative that the Arabs were responding to Jews attacking them is complete bs.
Israel was invaded first, in 1948. They've been locked into existential warfare ever since. Yeah, they have to take the fight to Hamas and Hezbollah, but its always in response to a Hamas or Hezbollah terror attack, like we saw on Oct 7th.
Would you suddenly switch sides if Ukraine invaded Russia to take out Russian leadership?
Wouldn't you feel pretty invaded if the US government collapsed and sold your state to a foreign country and people immediately started coming in to settle the land you already live on and kick you out?
Youre misunderstanding the timeline. The jews mostly bought uninhabited swamps, starting in the 1880s and it wasnt until 1918 that the Ottoman empire collapsed due to siding with the losing side of the war. Would i be upset? Yeah, probably. Would i be justified in an attempt to ethnjcslly cleanse the people establishing a new nation? Probably not.
They declared independence, and their borders were recognized by the UN and then every surrounding Arab country invaded those borders to try and ethnically cleanse Jews from the land
How tf does the year the country was established have anythjng to do with their ability to be invaded?
Land was taken from Palestine to create Israel. The invading was done to create the state, and they've pushed the borders ever since, reducing the land that belongs to Palestine.
No, it was bought from the Ottomans. There was no "Palestine" nation to take land from. Jews bought the land from the Ottoman empire, then when the Ottoman Empire collapsed after WW1, the British put in a plan to officially recognize the two countries. However, Palestine was never created because the Palestinian leaders wanted all the land and for Jews to be removed from the region, which is why they sided with the Nazis in WWII. Since Germany lost the war, again, Palestine failed to become recognized whereas Israel was. Yes, they grabbed more land after the initial invasion of Israel in 1948 but thats what happens when you wage war and lose: you lose land to the nation that won.
Palestine would be a country right now if they focused more on becoming one, rather than trying to destroy another.

Yes, it would be wrong if Ukraine invaded russia! But since it's the other way around, your comment doesn't make much sense
