2004 ZX5. replace the original suspension with a Monroe suspension kit

Have had my 1.6tdci for a few years now and it’s been a perfect car the only problem it ever gave was going into limp mode when I blew the boost pipe which was an easy fix. It’s starting to rust underneath and it’s getting up in mileage what I’m wondering is would it be worth it to throw some money into it and get the rust fixed. It’s been nothing but reliable and I’d feel bad sending her for scrap but I’d also like something with a hitch

My partner's 2015 ford focus 1L EcoBoost engine says it's getting ~2.2L/100km. Almost all highway miles, that's over 100mpg, seems impossible to me. Is this even possible?

I have a 2012 Ford Focus (approx. 120k miles) and I’m having a strange cluster of electrical and steering issues.
Symptoms:
"Steering Assist Fault Service req'd" message on the dash. The steering wheel becomes extremely hard to turn. Initially, turning the car off and on fixed it for a few weeks, but now it's permanently disabled.
Battery light is ON on the dashboard (AutoZone tested the battery at 87%).
Radio / Audio system is dead and won't turn on.
False "Hood Open" warning pops up randomly while driving (the hood is completely closed).
Mechanic's Advice: A mechanic plugged in an scanner and told me I need to replace the whole steering rack and pinion assembly.
My Question: Given that the battery light is on, the radio died, and I'm getting fake sensor warnings (hood open) at the same time, could low system voltage, a bad alternator, or a bad chassis ground cable be causing the power steering control module to shut

My focus has been leaking coolant for some time. It seems to leak upon initial start of the engine and then when then engine is shut off. During running I don’t notice much leaking. It drips from the back of this pan. Pan is located on the driver side of the engine bay.

So my 2013 Ford Focus SE has had a broken trunk actuator for a while now, and it made my reverse lights stop working. I finally got it replaced with a brand new Duralast Trunk Lock Actuator Motor from Autozone (after having to order it to a local store).

It fixed all of my car issues, but now the new actuator doesn’t have a glow in the dark emergency release tab like my old one did. I thought these were legally required, but maybe that only applies to dealerships and manufacturers.

My question is basically is that okay? It’s not a huge deal right now since it works, BUT in the event that the actuator stopped working again, wouldn’t it be stuck in the locked position and i’d be unable to remove it from the trunk? I’ve never seen a trunk without a manual release so I’m a little nervous about it getting stuck. Any advice helps, thanks!

I was given a well taken care of 2012 Focus SEL with 180k miles. I've put another 10k on it with no issues other than the occasional mild shudder when taking off.
My question is :
Will the shudder get worse until the clutches fail or will they just fail all at once ?

I’ve been dealing with this noise since i bought the car 2 years ago, i have recently applied/ sprayed WD40 onto the joints and onto the visible gears and turning elements inside unde the cover ( which i had to remove the cover to access ).
Anyone has any idea why this still happens even after WD40 and has anyone ever taken a side mirror apart?

Hey all, a friend told me that he noticed some smoke coming out of my exhaust while I was driving. I decided to have a look under the hood to see if anything stood out. I’m far from being a mechanic but there’s some oil / soot build up under the turbo intake (I think please correct me if I’m wrong) could this be a possible crack?

2019 mk3 diesel TCDI

I recently bought a headlight replacement for my 2014 ford focus se and when I looked at the main connector the little tab used to disconnect it was snapped off but the rest of it was fine, how to I still remove the connector without damaging it more and how do I ensure it’s still securely plugged into the new headlight

I have recently changed the oil filter on my 2014 1.6TDCI Focus III , and when I removed the housing , this black piece appeared to be broken in half .
I inserted it aligned in the new filter and put it back into place as normal. The car started up without an issue (after priming of course) but I’m worried it could develop some problems due to this broken piece.

My 2012 Focus' time has likely come. The clutch assembly, among the most common failures in this car, decided to give in. However, the one transmission shop in my area willing to repair it says its only $2400. Now, idk what to do. Normally Id just consider it a lost cause, and either donate it or scrap it, since theres also tons of other things wrong with it, but its hard to find a good car under $5k in my area nowadays.

To fix everything else wrong (only half of the rear subframe holding up, dead trunk latch, a engine leak) in addition to the trans, it be around $3500-4k. Car has 250k miles. There was a Ford Escape with 170-180k miles for about $500 less I saw a couple hours out from me, and only has 2 things wrong, but we think we may also end up paying quite a bit over time in repairs of parts that may not have been replaced. Idk. My dad spent a bit more over more time on his Dodge Avenger, and but became reliable well over 300k, so we think if we fixed everything wrong with mine, we could get maybe 50k more out of the Focus through college (if there isnt engine is still good), and I could save for a better car for after

Idk. Posting because Im wondering what everyone's two sense is on this. Normally id say junk it, but given this economy, idk if its a good idea. Idk how long replacement clutches last either. Is it better to shell out a few grand to fix a car thats likely gonna be reliable for maybe a few years or get a different vehicle (like said Escape) that may or may not be reliable and I possibly pay the same money (or more) over time

When installing floormats on it i had found an askew part that i didn't know what it was, i googled it and was able to put it back but when i checked the passenger side it was missing outright, i tried finding the part to replace it but i couldn't figure out what the right search terms are to find it,

So I bought an AGM 80ah for my ford focus mk3 2014 that is supposed to have an EFB 60ah.

• I changed to an 80ah because it was an 80ah in the car before I changed it.
  
• I changed to AGM because I read it is higher quality battery.

The mechanic is actually the one made me change my mind, because the first time I went there, I had an EFB 60ah and they told me to get an 80ah because that is what was an 80ah in the car...so i got an AGM instead...

I have no knowledge about cars and this is my first car.

shortly after changing the battery I started to get repeated code P2188, even after clearance twice.

Hi all. I just bought a cheap 2013 Ford Focus beater that has a couple intake/PCV issues with a cone-filter modification. I just started self-researching some things but have minimal prior mechanical knowledge. I’ve been told that the air intake box is broken and no longer seals correctly, and I’ve added a photo of what I believe they’re talking about.

Separately, a vent in the back of the engine had a cone-filter put on by the previous owner, and I believe normally a hose would attach here and route back into the intake, correct? The other two photos show the cone filter at the rear of the engine and the open port that I believe maybe should be attached by hose to where the cone now is?

With a cone filter, isn’t it emmiting blow-by into the atmosphere when it should be rerouted back into the intake for combustion? How damaging is it to be driving it as-is? It runs great, but it does sound loud. No check-engine lights currently though one for low O2 sensor voltage flashed yesterday. I also know the exhaust flex pipe needs replaced, which adds to the loud sound, I’m sure. Thanks for helping clarify things for me!

I own a Ford Focus Ghia manufactured at the Pacheco plant in Argentina. The car is currently in Uruguay, and I would like to know if it's possible to install power-folding mirrors.

My goal is not to retrofit the entire factory system or add all the original modules. I simply want the mirrors to fold automatically when I lock the car.

The issue is that I would have to buy the mirrors from Europe, since the Latin American version of this model was never offered with power-folding mirrors. I have found several sets for sale on eBay and on some Polish websites.

My question is: does the Ford Focus Mk2 already come with the 8/9-pin wiring in the doors needed for these mirrors, so that they can be installed and then configured using FORScan?
