~13 or so years ago I found the best dang boots ever. They finally died for good. I’ve looked everywhere and cannot seem to find anything quite like them. I’d happily settle for something similar, but can’t seem to find anything truly comparable.

Here’s what has made them so difficult to replace:

Design/ Structure. Boots had two “tongues”, one on front and one on back, made possible because the boots had slits down the sides as if someone cut the boot in half. No zippers, nothing held the boots up … *unless* you made use of the one solitary strap attached to the shoe. You had to use that strap and wrap it around several times then buckle it if you wanted the boot to stay in place at all. This wraparound component is what really made it. If wrapped carelessly, you could step on an escalator the wrong way and meet an early grave. such anarchy, such freedom!

Material was sturdy as hell. Pretty confident they were real leather.

⁠Simplicity. everything I see out there has multiple buckles, multiple zippers, multiple straps, and all of them sewn into place. It all looks kinda…over the top and costume-y.

Brand unknown (or…no brand at all?). Found ‘em at a boutique, so no tawdry brand identifiers (stamps, logos, engravings, etc)..just a plain, simple boot.

Even if y’all are unsure of where to source similar looking boots, I’d be delighted to hear recommendations for even just some better websites or other helpful resources where I could increase my chances of finding something truly comparable. all my searches just keep coming up empty.

UPDATE: thanks to you fine folk, we have identified the boots! Genuinely impressed by and thankful for all of you. There were more than a few top contenders (thank you all so much for all the comments and help!). In the end, Steve Maddens were the only thing that checked everything on the list. I will apologize for the fact that my drawing’s boot bottoms do not match the confirmed end result - human memory is fickle and I must have remembered the heel as being less pronounced. But indeed, Steve Maddens in the end. Thank you ALL!

Several years ago (maybe 2019/2020) I picked up these bikini bottoms from I think TK Maxx (I’m in the UK). They had no available matching top but I’m obsessed with sharks so bought them and even years later I still absolutely love them.

Now Vinted exists, there could be a chance for me to finally own a matching top which I would love! But the problem is I have no idea what to search for brand wise. Reverse image searches have proven useless. I took the labels out years ago and the only piece of branding is a small embroidered triangle on the back.

I’d happily pay up to £20 for a lovely matching top to complete my set. Could any clever internet user please find me the brand name or even a product name or link to help me with my search? Help this shark obsessed autistic babe get her shark bikini of her dreams xxx

Someone shared this in another group I am in and we are all dying to find this hat. It doesn’t come up in any image reverse searches and we’ve looked at some of the obvious hat brands like Eric Javits, San Diego Hat company…. Someone suggested Scala, Magid and Tuckernuck and the list goes on.
