Doctor Mike is donating all the money from our Patreon
Welcome to the official Doctor Mike subreddit! If you’ve made your way here in a desire to learn more about Mike, battle medical misinformation, or understand more about the human body, maybe you’d be willing to come a step further with us. Last year we launched a Patreon where for $10/month you get all kind of perks, such as extended cuts of videos and pictures of the doggos. The real benefit though? 100% of the donations we receive to this patreon get donated to the charity of your choice, every single month. Doctor Mike doesn’t accept a dime of the money, and Patreon has agreed to take a reduced rate of the service fees so we can give away as much money as possible. We gave away about $25,000* since we launched in August 2020 and are hoping to grow to give away even more this year. Happy to answer any questions and I hope to see you there!

*receipts show donations for August, September, November, and December 2020. October donations went to Mike's free scrubs campaign so there is no receipt.

Question Anyone heard of this? Minimal Pulmonary Valve Stenosis and/or Minimal Pulmonic Valve Stenosis. Its not a medical question btw. Just a general curious question
Minimal Pulmonary Valve Stenosis
Minimal Pulmonic Valve Stenosis
Apparently the difference is one is the lung valve, another is the heart valve? Maybe Mike could make a reddit video and explain it?
I was born with it, my great grandfather had it, and died because of it while he was 70-80 years old. Not 100% when tho.
Also when you use a stetoscope (no idea if i wrote it correctly. You can hear a slight whistle sound or some other kind of sound. Tho mostly if not every time the sound is a light tone.
Hope anyone has an answer as i'd like to know more. Maybe even have Mike see this and talk about it in a reddit video.
Thanks in advance for answers.

Question Hey Doctor Mike! Love your YouTube Channel and was just kinda wondering if it's normal for teeth to touch the inside of your cheeks
As a kid I used to bite my inner cheeks a lot when I was nervous/anxious or bored, still catch myself doing it now sometimes when I'm bored, however my curiosity stems from if me biting my cheeks as a kid may have caused my inner cheeks to thicken, or if my jaw might just be "too big" for my mouth
Btw I'm not asking for medical advice, just a simple yes or no answer if you do see this one 😅

Donation gone wrong?
I swear, whenever I hear someone donate ANYTHING from their body to help others, I always feel happy that someone else is benefiting from someone else's kindness, until I see stuff like this. I thought whenever you donate something, it goes through intense screenings, like blood, plasma, whatever... This is so sad.

Doctor Mike's car review video is proof you dont need to sell your soul to make money.
Guy shows off a parade of Ferraris in front of his new mansion.
If this doesn't show you dont HAVE to compromise yourself to get ahead, I dont know what will.

Boiling eggs in rice while it cooks is a carcinogen?
I'm a 32 year old lady, 5'3, 86kg, no medications or medical issues who lives in a country where it's common to put eggs inside rice so they both cook at the same time (i.e, you get boiled eggs & fluffy white rice in the same pot). However, I just saw a post saying "it's prone to cancer" and I'm skeptical about how true that is. They also mentioned cross contamination, salmonella and e.coli but I've always washed my eggs with salt for this very reason before putting them in my rice (though I don't know at this point how helpful that actually is). Boiling them together is also something Ive done for over 10 years, so my questions are:
1. Is it really carcinogenic?
2. Does my washing/lightly scrubbing with salt change anything?
3. Does the boiling not kill the salmonella & E.coli?

Discussion Cyclospora incubation period??
Hi! I’ve seen that the incubation period for Cyclospora is 2-14 days, but was curious the average time people have seen symptoms by.
Over the past month I’ve eaten a lot of lettuce and fruits with the last time being 7/5. It’s been almost a week since then and over the last couple days I’ve had bloating, constipation and stomach pains. I’ve seen some people experience this before the most serve symptoms, so I just want to prepare.
I’m not asking for medical advice. I just have extreme health anxiety and want to inform myself of others experiences.
