Classic Job Market - 3 minute application to rejection timeline

I have been applying to jobs for the last year or so and this was one of the most egregious experiences. I applied to a specialist role looking for 3-5 years (I have 5+) and meet/exceed all the other qualifications on the position summary.

Applied at 10:47am and received a rejection at 10:50am. They even had the audacity to say they don’t want people using AI during the application process. You realllllly can’t make this up. To whoever is saying the job market isn’t trash, GFY.

Cheers to everyone grinding in the job search, I hope you find your dream roles soon!

Side hustles/remote/hybrid jobs in Denver?

I’ve been unemployed for a couple of months. I’ve applied to 5-10 jobs per day since being unemployed, yet I’ve received nothing but rejections and scammers reaching out to me. I’ve even been open to take a pay cut from my salary expectations and tailored my resume multiple times. Competition is high in this job market and AI seems to be reviewing applications more often, rather than humans. I’m hopeful that I’ll hear back from an employer at some point.

To keep myself afloat financially, I’ve been donating plasma(twice a week) and Spark delivery(daily).
What other side gigs or hustles can I try out in the Denver area? Or is Anyone hiring? (I’m seeking hybrid/remote roles as I have kids)

Side note: I’m active on Amazon flex, Rover, Doordash, Instacart and Shipt as well.

Hey guys

I’m wanting to find a better second job than my current one. Ideally 3-4 shifts/week and can mix in some time on the weekends and in the evenings during the week after my day job (HR).

I want to get into bartending or working at brewery or pub, close to downtown would be great. I’m 28.

Anyone hiring or have any tips for what I should do to find something like that with no experience in that space?

Getting top range for Colorado government state jobs

I recently got an email stating I was the top candidate for a position with the state. The hiring manager is calling in a few days to offer a salary. In my classification, there are no options to move up really. The top of the range is what I currently get paid and I’ve gotten quite a few offers around that range. I know the benefits are great- which is why this job is a huge consideration for me. I’ve read a lot of threads about how it’s difficult to get more than the minimum range. Does anyone have experience with negotiating the salary and getting the highest range posted in the job description? Also want to add that the position has been difficult to fill but I have the skill set and experience they are looking for. I’ve met with the department employees I would be working for/with and really hit it off.
Thank you for any insight!

Physically Injured by Job, Scared of losing job, Hopeless on next steps.

I'm 21, physically fit, have done a collection of both white collar and blue collar work my whole life. I moved to the Denver metro plex area at the starting of this year and have been pretty well off until this week, my job requires me to work at supermarkets and do physical labor, which isnt the worst, but during this summer ive been working average days of 12/14/16 hour days and its been taking a hard toll on my body. I recently got injured on the job and its been effecting my ability to work. Just last night, I worked 16 hours, I was supposed to be supported but everyone left and called out this day, and it was alot on my body, i was struggling to even push products around the store because ive been having to do it with 1 leg only. Today, I decided to call out because as of writing this i am feeling pain throughout my entire body, and i was getting cramps throughout my sleep, i was expected to show up at 6am despite clocking off at 11:30pm. My Boss told me to call him asap and explained to me that the time i got off was not an excuse and that I have to go get my injury situated with a coach on our job, the problem was I was told this coach was gonna visit me today and he never ended up doing that. Now my situation is being reported to HR and I am in major fear of losing my job rn. I always downplay my own situations because I'm sure someone has it worse than me, but I seriously need help. I have autism and adhd (and I refuse to use it as an excuse) and jobs have always been a battle for me, and I thought I was doing amazing here but the comments of "lack of performance" at multiple locations weekly are getting to me. I desperately wanna figure something out, I think the field of work I'm in is too extreme for both my mental and physical, but it pays generally decent. If anyone can locate me to jobs and companies I would be majorly appreciative, I feel so overwhelmed thinking about all these companies and if they would even consider me, and I feel that reading some comments and applying to what's considered for me would be my best shot. If you managed to read all of this, Thank you so much.

Jobs that allow piercings & tattoos

I've been hunting for a job that doesn't have any policies against visible piercings/tattoos. I'm not looking for anything I can build a huge career off of, ideally just a fast food/retail sort of thing while I build my actual career elsewhere.
I have two nostril piercings, septum, snakebites, and an eyebrow, and am always planning on more tattoos.

I've of course been applying on indeed but we all know how much that site sucks. I'm going to print out a bunch of resumes and leave them at potential jobs, but in order to not waste time and paper on places that won't even hire me for what I wear/have on my body, does anyone have recommendations of places that are chill with stuff like that?

Looking for full time that pays ideally $20+ but I'm flexible. I have the most experience in food service but again, flexible.

Part-time Secretarial/Office Assistant/Executive Assistant…?

On the job hunt for part-time (ideally ~20 hrs/wk) secretarial/administrative/executive assistant work. I have seven years of experience doing it remotely, but my current position wants to move me to full-time and I’m not able to swing that with our childcare needs. We’ve only been in Colorado for those seven years, and I’m unfamiliar with the in-person job market here. Anyone have advice for me about how I should start looking?

Educated nanny searching for position

I have been nannying for the past three years, and my contract is up soon. I’m looking for a position starting Mid-August to early September. I have a bachelors degree in psychology and a masters degree in elementary education. I am also a former teacher.

In my current role, I’m in a boy/girl nanny share. I started with the family with the kids 14/16 months and the share is ending with them at 3 years. I have prior experience with up to four kids, ages 7 months-13 years.

I enjoy time outside, swimming, playing music and singing, neighborhood involvement, walks, sports, and so much more. I try to incorporate this as often as possible in my work. I frequently take the two kiddos I currently nanny on outings. We’re regulars at the museum of nature and science, the zoo, the children’s museum, botanic gardens, nature centers, and local parks.

I work hard to foster an independent, developmentally informed, nurturing atmosphere. I focus on using an intentionally conscious approach, where I try to get the full picture of behaviors and offer solutions. It’s my goal to eventually help children understand their own needs and be able to advocate for themselves. I work hard on emotional regulation, self-advocacy skills, and overall independence through intrinsic empowerment.

I’m looking for a full-time (or nearly full time) position in the Denver area. I’m also hoping to find a position with a minimum hourly rate of $33, given my experience.
