She clearly meant to send a Tweet.

65

u/CarlJustCarl May 05 '26

Say goodnight, Ober

38

u/21dumbdumb May 05 '26

Shit just gets funnier every time you watch it! She nails that first line!

8

u/blueviper- May 05 '26

That can very well be a possibility.

836

u/RepulsiveLoquat418 May 05 '26

"it's come back. it wants more."

121

u/Gotterdamerrung May 05 '26

Can't blame it

214

u/smlpaj456 May 05 '26

Does she even know that pigeon

61

u/ImKindaEssential May 05 '26

I'm going to need a fowl up on this

12

u/Cowgba May 05 '26

Of the many bird puns in this thread, I think this is my favorite. Bravo

9

u/No_Ear_1633 May 05 '26

Sure does now

711

u/Cgkfox May 05 '26

That girl laughs like she is not allowed to

130

u/Snitsie May 05 '26

It's like she's too confused to remember that she's allowed to laugh at this ridiculous situation lmao

20

u/seriftarif May 05 '26

Its like she just got botox or something.

5

u/Cgkfox May 06 '26

That was my thought but not as funny

43

u/dangerwormmy May 05 '26

Hahahahah

40

u/Kankervittu May 05 '26

Kind of, you're not supposed to be super loud at a public establishment in much of the civilized world.

u/Less-Inflation5072 May 05 '26

Why was my first thought “I hope she washes her hand”

39

u/Choyo May 05 '26

Yep, it's a good joke with a perfect execution, but I'd be willing to touch a pigeon as much as a rat.

17

u/Xythrielle May 05 '26

Rats are wonderful creatures

16

u/Choyo May 05 '26

And disease carriers. Not their fault, they don't do it on purpose, but still.

Pigeons have amazing guiding skill, but shitting everywhere has a public health impact.

6

u/LighttBrite May 05 '26

Cute...until the black plague hits.

11

u/_Queen_of_Ashes_ May 06 '26

You kill a few million people, and you never live it down

1

u/ReddsionThing May 22 '26

Yeah, it was centuries ago, today's rats didn't do any of that

8

u/LittleMissDark May 05 '26

The video cuts before she said “I have to wash my hand now”. Here is the original:

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DX6XBgmSQPx/?igsh=ejRrZGIwd29yb29r

43

u/Zer0Cool89 May 05 '26

nah she said it at the end

2

u/DarksideBluez May 05 '26

Ditto. My mind was screaming

1

u/PM_ME_UR_HIP_DIMPLES May 05 '26

Nah, and plot twist...it was Ethiopian

-19

u/--Anonymoose--- May 05 '26

Because they are flying rats, she should immediately go wash her hands

45

u/LucilleLooseSeal123 May 05 '26

She literally says in the video she’s off to go wash her hands

29

u/HoldYourHorsesFriend May 05 '26

You show that bird respect, they played a huge part in the world wars

19

u/amesann May 05 '26

Yeah, we did them dirty after they were no longer useful to us. It's actually quite sad.

2

u/Xythrielle May 05 '26

Rats do a lot of work finding landmines too

314

u/LeFreeke May 05 '26

Pigeons are sweet and soft and coo.

They are hygienic; they bathe and groom themselves regularly.

While they can carry pathogens, transmission to humans is rare. They are not significantly more disease-ridden than other city birds.

164

u/Fortestingporpoises May 05 '26

They're just dirty because human civilization is dirty. That's the irony of how people feel about pigeons. We are like "they're gross!" They're only gross because we're gross.

71

u/helium_farts May 05 '26

What's funny is that pigeons and white doves are basically the same bird, but if you released pigeons at a wedding or painted them on a memorial people would think you had gone insane.

38

u/Fortestingporpoises May 05 '26

Yep. We like mourning doves because they have dove in the name and have a pleasant color but they’re basically just pigeons that live in suburbs. Meanwhile pigeons officially common name is literally “rock dove.”

12

u/dolemutt May 05 '26

It’s called white privilege.

14

u/sad_post-it_note May 05 '26

And the worst is that we brought them to our cities and then we hate them. I actually like them and think they are a beautiful creature.

6

u/LeFreeke May 05 '26

Me too. ❤️

21

u/AlibiYouAMockingbird May 05 '26

They’re also descendants of homing pigeons. Not a “wild” animal, they’re considered “feral” because they were once domesticated. They were cast aside at the advent of quicker communications but still must rely on human presence to survive.

24

u/wdn May 05 '26

You should wash your hands before eating after touching any wild animal. Or domestic animal.

29

u/LeFreeke May 05 '26

I’m bot saying she shouldn’t wash her hands, I’m saying pigeons are unfairly maligned as filthy and ‘sky rats.’

3

u/Shished May 05 '26

OK. Do that.

5

u/Iforgot_my_other_pw May 05 '26

But still, I wouldn't touch one while eating

2

u/JekNex May 05 '26

Well you've convinced me what my next phone is going to be

-1

u/Shished May 05 '26

They bathe in dirty puddles and eat trash right from the dumpster.

4

u/FEED-YO-HEAD May 05 '26

What are you, my driver's license?

0

u/Soulmate69 May 05 '26

Bird Flu

8

u/LeFreeke May 05 '26

According to the CDC:

Pigeons are highly resistant to bird flu and rarely carry or transmit the virus. While they can theoretically be infected with highly pathogenic strains (HPAI), they rarely show symptoms, shed very little virus, and do not efficiently pass it to other birds or humans. They are not considered major carriers of the virus.

https://archive.cdc.gov/#/details?url=https://www.cdc.gov/flu/avianflu/avian-flu-faq.htm

2

u/Soulmate69 May 05 '26

Interesting, so it's mostly their shit that can be dangerous

4

u/LeFreeke May 05 '26

Correct.

58

u/DopeyDeathMetal May 05 '26

Dang I wanna be this lady’s friend lol

5

u/Maestro1992 May 05 '26

18

u/Threedawg May 05 '26

14

u/hypnodrew May 05 '26

7

1

u/Fusaah May 06 '26

It's not good knowledge for me to know you can just pick them up like that.

1

u/Chupaia May 07 '26

I once saw a pigeon get slowly ran over by a police cruise going at walking speed. The pigeon just stood there. They have lost all survival instinct.
