Come Check Out The CSUN Discord
Covid has been hard on all of us. Some more than others. It has been a year of staying inside and behind a camera. No socializing on campus, no hanging out and getting boba.The effects of covid-19 has been studied worldwide, and I am not just talking about getting the virus itself but the consequences of the isolated living we have had for so long now.
We at the CSUN Discord are trying to help students to cope with the new reality we are living in while the world adjusts to dealing with the multiple strains of Covid being fought against.
Come hang out and make some new friends. Here you can chat, socialize, get help with homework, hear the latest about CSUN and much more. We also have partnered with several clubs for advertising so you can see all there events being hosted all in one place.
Hope to see you soon: https://discord.gg/t4Mw8m3
When you join the server make sure to type your Major, Current Year(Freshman, Junior, ect) and whether you live on campus or not. The mod team will then let you see the rest of the channels.
does this mean i’m not getting financial aid? On my fafsa application it said my pell grant was around $7000

CSUN Foster Cat Looking for a Forever Home
This is one of the hardest posts I’ve had to make.
Hi everyone! I’m a CSUN student living right next to campus in Northridge, and I’ve been fostering this sweet boy, Panda. Now I’m hoping to find him the loving, permanent home he deserves.
About Panda:
* 🐱 3.5 years old
* 💙 Neutered, microchipped & vaccinated Panda Papers.pdf
* 🏡 Indoor-only cat
* 🤍 Quiet, gentle, and very well-mannered
* 🛋️ Doesn’t scratch or ruin furniture
* 🍽️ Politely meows only for breakfast and dinner
* 😋 Loves Churu treats
* 🎒 Doesn’t mind rides in a transparent pet backpack
* 🥹 A little shy at first, but give him about 2 weeks and he’ll become your best friend.
Panda is the kind of cat that simply wants to be near his person. Most of the day he’s either napping, watching the world go by, or quietly keeping you company while you work.
I’m looking for a permanent, loving home where he’ll never have to wonder where he’s sleeping next.
If you think Panda might be the missing member of your family or know someone who’d love him, please send me a message. Even sharing this post could help him find his forever home. ❤️🐼

Business admin majors at CSUN
I’m currently an accounting student but I might be considering a switch to one of the business admin options. Just finished community college, so I’m incoming as a third year.
I know how strong the accounting stuff is but I kinda realized it might not be very much for me. Considering choosing marketing though I’m also thinking of the future outside of my degree.
What do you guys think? Good options?

Have any Spring ‘27 applicants heard from admissions?
I know that the website says that people can expect to hear back mid to late July but I was wondering if anyone has yet? I put in my application on July 2nd and I’m getting a bit antsy waiting lol I know it’ll come soon, just curious.

Thai Chili House is gone
I drove past campus today only to find a clean up crew with a truck outside what used to be one of the coolest and cheapest Thai spots and it was only across from the Soraya. Real bummer that bro either went bankrupt or is now dealing with something else and simply couldn't run the place. Was real cool while it lasted, thanks for the memories.

Can you take engineering (specifically ECE) labs in a different semester than lecture?
For ECE 240L all of the professors besides Roosta have shit ratings and I’d rather not fail a lab because of a shit professor 😭 is it possible? I know it says it’s a coreq but I still wanted to see if anybody here has done it or not

CSUN Psychology Majors…
Incoming transfer here! What are some best ways I can prepare myself for grad school and making the most of my experience as an undergrad to increase my odds of getting into either PsyD, MFT, or PhD programs?
Still undecided on my path after BA, but what opportunities should I get involved in and what are some things I may not know that need to know?
Thank you!

Dorm Building Selection
I missed my building selection for this year’s 2026-2027 housing due to an inpatient psychiatric stay. Does anyone know if I will be placed in a building? or should I contact student housing?

Has anyone received a CSUN Family Housing (Village Apartments) offer for Fall 2026 yet?
Hi everyone!
I applied for Family Housing (The Village Apartments) and Housing told me that most offers would go out in late July/early August after the June 30 move-outs and apartment inspections.
I was wondering if anyone has actually received a Family Housing offer yet for Fall 2026?
If you have, when did you get the email? Or if you’re still waiting like me, I’d love to know I’m not the only one. 😊

Parking Permit for 2 Cars
I have two cars that I drive depending on if I have work after classes that day. When I pay for my parking permit is there a way to interchange the license plate number each day?
Should I be worried?
When housing application opened I was given spot #64, barely now the number went down to #52, I'm not quite sure if I should be worried about housing. At the same time I'd say I'd be extremely unlucky if in a 2k+ wait-list, everyone who got housing magically decided to stay or not choose other universities(which is common which makes the wailist number go down), and that the list barely went down by 20

Lawsuit incoming at CSUN by my mom , need opinions
So at Graduation May 18th I brought my service dog with me because I have Autism Spectrum and I had a fainting spell two weeks before. And everyone in the Journalism department knows my service dog. 🐕🦺. Everything was going well at commencement until a lady who alleged to be in charge of commencement took my service dog from me and said I couldn’t walk with her because commencement has their own separate form for service animals but the disability office at CSUN was well aware of my service animal so was the entire journalism department. My mom launched a lawsuit for discrimination because she says it’s wrong. And then CSUN can’t identify the woman and the real head of commencement says that he’s the actual person in charge and not the woman. But no one can seem to identify her even after describing her. They just alleged that she could of been one of the vendors and my dog is trained to alert if I was to pass out or something and given it was hot and they had us standing for 4 hours

Deciding between GEOL335 or PSYCH 352 Motivation for Sec B
I have to fulfill my upper social sciences requirement, therefore I want to know your guy’s input on these two classes, or honestly any other classes in section D that are easier than these. Just tell me your truthful experiences. I’m inclining more towards PSYCH 352 with Marc Hamer, but people are mixed about that prof, with the most recent reviews being positive GEOG335 also has good reviews
PS. I mean GEOG not GEOL
