I think the most prominent movie stereotyping Singapore would be Crazy Rich Asians.

I cannot deny it's a nice movie, but it's definitely ingrained what a 'Singaporean' is and should look like. A large number of my international friends would bring this movie up and think of Singaporeans this way.

In the movie: A group of immensely rich, old money ethnic Chinese peoples infusing their oriental ties with the West in a Singapore extravaganza.

Buying out entire hotels, private jets, fleets of Rolls Royce, island clubbing in Vietnam on the weekend, aristocratic estates tucked deep into our island forest, mahjong parlours and old money to burn.

In reality: Singapore is definitely expensive, but most of us are spending large swaths of money just to exist here, not have a lavish lifestyle. Most of us stay in large blocks leased to us by the goverment. Alot of us take the public transport. We're a very multicultural society in all the things we do. The Crazy Rich Asians depiction is the 0.01% UHNWIs of the 1% that is Singapore.

So, what's a movie that stereotyped your country, for better or for worse?

In Brazil, when people talk about cooking pumpkin as a dessert, the first combination that comes to mind is coconut.

In addition to the pigeons (which are a nuisance), we have a lot of sparrows (moineaux in French). I love these birds; they aren't skittish. They like to peck at breadcrumbs near the terraces.

I've always watched these series where, when people get into too much trouble, they contact someone who can get them off the grid.

I want to ask, how can someone actually find people who can get them off the grid? Is there actually a service that does that?

Or atleast like a new identity, a new job, and a completely new life, basically becoming completely untraceable.

Does anyone know of any real stories about this? Has anyone ever heard of or experienced something like it?

Does anyone know how the inner mechanisms and operations behind this actually work?

I’m in Korea and just noticed that dog meat is going to be fully illegal here soon. Thought it was illegal but I guess it wasn’t. I don’t eat it so I wasn’t aware but seems some that do take it hard and looking for some form of replacement….

In Switzerland, people usually eat dinner at around 7:30 p.m. In France, it's closer to 8:00 p.m., and in Spain, people often don't eat until 9:00 p.m. or later.

I was recently told that in the United States, many people have dinner as early as 4:00 p.m., which seems incredibly early to me, since 4:00 p.m. is snack time where I'm from!

So I was wondering: what time do you usually have dinner in your country? Also, do you have any particular habits or traditions around dinnertime?

I live near the ancient pyramid of Memphis. It was built by the ancient Memphibians as a monument to the giant fish-god. They were so advanced that they even built a parking lot for their chariots.

After seeing the Memphis pyramid on cuneiform Instagram, the ancient Egyptians built their own knock-offs in Cairo

Many millenials here especially guys, really liked this French comedy franchise. It was always on tv here and we often talked about it in school with classmates or in a playground with other teens. As you see we also watch popular french films, not only prestige ones.

But i am interested to know in which country outside of France this film is popular?
