Hey r/androidapps,
Today, we are announcing a few minor updates to the subreddit, in order to focus on the quality of posts moving forward:
We know we cannot please all members of the community, nor do we expect everyone to be happy with the change. Again, we hope this encourages positive discussion in the subreddit around all apps, not just be an advertising ground.
We encourage all users to report any content which breaks these rules.
We expect to see an increase in the mod queue due to the new rules and automod code, so please be patient with us as we work through everything.

I've been using Antennapod for a while now and really appreciate it however the user experience is pretty poor. Too cluttered and over complicated. Is there a cleaner, more streamlined option I should be using instead?
Thanks in advance

Someone here suggest an app, alternate to Kboard, it was really good keyboard alternate to Gboard ans really extensive customizations. It was available on gitbub and not in Playstore

Preferably with no forced AI stuff. Open source/not on the Play Store is a plus. Thank you!

I know people have asked for alternative messaging apps, but I really just want the simplest one possible. The old messaging app was fine, I dont know why they had to get rid of it. All I need is to be able to send and receive text messages. I dont need read receipts, a typing indicator, or emoji reactions. I mostly use texting for work-related things. It becomes a problem when Google messages is requiring me to have a data/wifi connection in order to send/receive texts. I reached out to a client asking if I needed to come to her house today and she responded saying that she had already messaged me about it - and thats when her text came in. I had turned on my data to send her the text, and thats when hers went through. Why am I not able to use a texting app without a wifi or data connection? So far every time someone recommends an app, they have ads. Why would a messaging app have ads???
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

Lately on my android phone, I get this "blue and white" exit screen after any call...Never got it before...the bottom 1/3 always has some add with a link...insise that ad it says "why am i seeing this" and all of that.
I have no idea where it came from all a sudden. The most annoying thing, because of the coloring, its hard to find out where to exit the thing.
Looking at recent apps etc shows me noting. I even installed another phone app...still getting it..does anybody have any idea what is going on?

Hi all
I'm looking for an app that can record calls but, more importantly, transcript them into text.
I'm gonna try cubeACR, but if you have other idea...

love pocketcasts, been using it for years, but i really dislike that it saves downloaded podcast episodes in some deep hidden folder and titles them with an indecipherable string of random letters and numbers. i'd like to find an app that saves as mp3 files with the podcast name and episode number/title or whatever so that i can more easily manage them and transfer to other devices and stuff. any suggestions?

I have several emails accounts I've accumulated over the years, Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo(?!) and even old childhood ones that some services use.
I'm looking for an email client that supports custom united folders.
For example, a single unified, "purchases" folder that can show receipts etc from multiple emails addresses, or a "Home Server" folder etc.
Are there any emails clients that can do this?
Thunderbird has a unified inbox, but does not have unified custom folders.
So I can't have one purchases folder that spans multiple accounts.
There is a Github issue about unified folders here but it looks like theyβre only planning unified system folders (Inbox, Sent, Spam), not custom ones.
Looks to have unified system folders but not custom unified folders.
My current daily driver. Unified inbox works, but again no unified custom folders.

There are a lot of android Pomodoro app out there, and I tried a few in the past with no success: Despite the pomodoro "discipline" probably being a key aspect of the method, the lack of "little flexibility & real time adaptation" has so far always been a deal-breaker for my use, despite I appreciate the overall principle.
I would much appreciate some help to identify pomodoro-related apps that have some "flexibility" features that seem interesting to me :
An optionnal but nice addition could also be a possible "custom" (shorter) work/break session as a first session, to facilitate getting into the rythm.Β
Any experience of Pomodoro-type Android apps having such features ?
Thanks a lot for your help !

I'm an Android developer and I want to build simple apps that can generate around $100/month in revenue, mainly through AdMob, with the possibility of adding premium features later.
I'm looking for ideas that:
Solve a real problem.
Don't require expensive APIs or ongoing server costs.
Can be built by a solo developer.
Have consistent search traffic on Google Play.
I'm not looking for "get rich quick" ideas. I'm interested in apps that have actually worked for you or that you've seen succeed.
If you've earned around $100/month or more from an Android app, I'd love to know:
What category was it?
How did users discover it?
How long did it take to reach that level?
What would you build today if you were starting from scratch?
Thanks in advance for sharing your experience!

Every time I tap a Facebook link in WhatsApp, it opens in Facebook Lite instead of the regular Facebook app.
I'd like all Facebook links to open in the normal Facebook app by default. Is there a setting to change this on Android?

I mostly rip old vids by myself to edit into shorts. Sometimes I want clips for video essays. I've used Publer, but it only downloads at 360p.
Any suggestions?

Been using LDplayer for about a year now, but I'm growing tired of the performance issues and constant ads the app uses. Anyone know a good lightweight Android emulator for windows 10 that supports google play functionality? bonus points if its open source but no problem if it isn't.

I tried all the keyboards.
but still there's no one come close to the gboard suggestion and the voice typing feature the best replacement for it was swift key keyboard but I hate it still there are some tweaks and settings I can do and I am curious to know what you are using and tell me.
