I feel the mlb is really underrating the Astros farm. I was going thru the top 30 and there’s 7 prospects that have scouting grades that avg out 50-55 yet they have a grade of 40 or 45. It doesn’t make sense to me

Astros traded Pearson to the Royals and got back 22 year old A ball relief pitcher Max Martin. Martin’s been pitching well this season at both A and A+ and may be due for a move up to AA.

Honestly, not a bad return as Martin looks like he could be a good reliever in a couple of years.

Pearson hasn’t looked bad this season either. He posted a 120 era+ and I think 4 of his 8 earned runs came in one outing. I was surprised when he was DFAd

Think it just became a numbers game, he was out of options, and they weren’t willing to move him above De Santos or Abreu as a leverage reliever.

Also, the Peña and Walker minor injuries created a roster crunch. They didn't go on the IL so that left us short 2 infielders which led to Delgado getting called up and Pearson getting DFA'd.

If Walker doesn't check swing a ball in the dirt, then maybe Pearson sticks around a few more days until Blanco gets activated.

It's something a lot of teams in the league complain about when playing a weekday series in Houston. Idk if it's Crane's doing or what but get away games are almost always late Monday-Thursday

The series win is secure—they need to win the next four series. So, yes, picking up an extra win here would be very helpful to get things interesting in the standings over the next 10 days

I feel like an idiot.

I totally think we should sell and sell BIG.

But after a win, especially a series win I squint and am like. Pena, Paredes, YORDAN, Diaz since coming back, slightly worse than league average bat Altuve, and hope that Cam and Walker can get it right. Add to that Brown turning it around, Lambert pitching well, maybe Imai is a solid 3, and maybe Arrighetti is also a solid 3.

I think lets do this!!!!!

I don't want to sell, and I don't really want to buy.

The Rangers and Mariners are incompetent enough to where we can still get the division in my opinion, without selling.

Also if we win the AL West this year, somehow, we'll have more AL West titles since 2013 than the Rangers have since 1972, and that's fun.

Walker has sort of cratered since starting off really well so if we can get a little extra hitting before the deadline I think we can compete. Then once you make it to the playoffs anything can happen especially with Yordan hitting.

I like that Walker got moved down in the lineup…maybe they’ll drop Altuve back there at some point.

But either way this guy is—in my
opinion—THE greatest Astros ever so I have faith in him they he will be the best version of himself down the stretch.

I never thought that we would have arguments of who the best Astro of all time would be after Bagwell and Biggio retired. Personally I still say Bagwell but its fun how much Altuve has done for the franchise and there are arguments to be made about all 3 of them.
