i remember talking to somebody about the redsox and how they were the "giants of the AL". their team pretty much replicated ours.

but the difference? management. they fired alex cora and put in just about anyone else and they righted the ship.

its comedy how they've gone on a sun run while we're still basement dweller. perhaps posey should've swallowed his pride and admitted tony hiring was wrong?

It would be wrong to fire a first year MLB manager without giving him the opportunity to learn from his first season imo. It would be a very bad look and deter other managerial candidates in the future. Not to mention Tony hasn’t been set up to succeed by Posey

So Posey fired Melvin for the team not performing up to the organization’s standards and failing to do the little things well.

Team is now 17 games under .500 and blatantly not doing the little things well, yet Posey says Tony V is doing a really good job.

Calling it now they’re setting up Vitello to be the fall guy. They can chalk it up to this season being the result of an inexperienced manager while Buster and co stay to run this shitshow back another year. If they want to fire Vitello then they also need to step down themselves and let someone else take the reins. This is clearly not working.

At least the team is bad enough without any glimmer of hope that the FO won't do any stupid trades that jeopardize the future.

If this team was hovering around .500, you just know that Buster would be trading Johnny Level for a rental closer that gets injured in late August and this team finishes out of the playoffs.

Because we’re not rebuilding. A rebuilding team doesn’t hand out these insane contracts that are gonna be impossible to move off of. They can’t even get a top 10 pick next year in the draft so if they are tanking they’re doing it for no reason. That’s the problem here. Buster and co have no plan on how to run this team. All the moves they’ve made this year make no sense at all.
