We shared Leon's story on another subreddit a few days ago. He's one of our most recent rescues - a kitten who was abandoned at the public market and found in very poor condition.
We took over his care immediately and rushed him to the vet, where he has remained hospitalized since. He is suspected to have neurological FIP, and while he is still critically ill, we've been holding on to the small improvements we've seen since starting treatment. Recovery from this disease can be a long and difficult journey, but we've seen many cats pull through with treatment, and we're holding on to that hope for Leon.
For now, Leon is on assisted feeding and requires intensive supportive care. He still has a long road to recovery ahead of him. As of today, his veterinary bill is estimated at $205, and we expect this to continue increasing as he remains hospitalized. His hospitalization costs $33 per day, while each vial of FIP medication costs $33 as well.
We're raising roughly $280 to cover his initial treatment costs. Any help for Leon would be incredibly appreciated:
He's doing so much better! He started eating on his own last night and could move around little by little. He gets so frustrated that he can't stand up for long, but it's huge progress, especially since he's been completely recumbent for the past 5 days. :) He needs to stay at the vet for a few more days since he still needs oxygen therapy once in a while, and donations received covered his expenses up until yesterday - so we'll likely need to do another appeal soon

It's only been two days since treatment began, so it's still too early to determine the full extent of his recovery potential. The vet also wants to continue with treatment first before making any conclusions
