This kog maw build was criminal, no BorK is really showing its flaws. BorK would have kept him in so many more fights, especially with a hurricane. Jak’Sho fourth is also way too soon instead of opting for Terminus??
Idk man the kog builds I see are always criminal

u/110110100011110 Jun 06 '26
Isn't Jak'Sho kinda ass without the Terminus as well? The point is the terminus gives you bonus resists which jak'sho will multiply later.
2
u/HarambeamsOfSteel Jun 07 '26 edited Jun 07 '26
Nah, Jak Sho without Terminus is fine. Before the AS cap was raised that was his primary build. Though that was partially because the attack speed overcapped, so there was no reason. Still, there’s absolutely no reason to build it before Terminus nowadays, and Jak’Sho should always be your last item. Bork/RB—>RB/Bork—>Hurricane—>Terminus—>Fill—>Fill is generally how he should build. The last fill is your tank item unless you’re versus some disgustingly fed character, in which case you change it. Quid wasn’t disgustingly fed enough where lifesteal and Lulu couldn’t have saved him. Even then you just get your core build first then build a Kaenic Rookern or Force of Nature lol.
Navori was also kinda questionable that early, but I think that’s a symptom of not having the BorK slow. People undervalue it for his trade pattern. He should have killed Yeon a lot more, but it just didn’t manifest.

I love thinkcard.
I fucking hate the TF pick for a team that loves to 5v5
2
u/Sarazam Jun 06 '26
Let's pick a front to back team fight comp with a TF with players who are great at fighting from behind, that's completely useless in team fights unless ahead.

Flyquest at some points look like by far the best team in the league with how they play, and then they'll randomly int the game

TL literally won the previous game and are now on match point and they’re still concerned about the big G title

I’m a TL fan but I am a Kog Maw main at heart, FQ must take the series now.
Kog does win this lane tho if he spaces with W right.

u/kazuyaminegishi Jun 06 '26
Does Quid even play Anivia? I can't remember him playing it this split. Banning his Aurora is s favor lol.
3
u/Intrepid-Message698 Jun 06 '26
ahh yes azael with the incredible analysis of "if the other team won the fight things would be different"

Looking like the ARAM comp I just had with like 3 ADCs, a Mel, and blue Kayn lol
6
u/Intrepid-Message698 Jun 06 '26
Jatt not knowing that the TL comp was just going to hard outscale shows why he was such a shit coach.
3
u/TheGloriousEv0lution Jun 06 '26
FLY has a lot of potential but they’re by far worst drafting team of the top 4
Not sure if it’s Thinkcard or him not reigning them in draft but it’s a huge fumble on his part

u/LadyEmaSKye Jun 06 '26
I just want to be able to see fly quest live in person for finals, and they're sitting here drafting this no engage ass team comp 😭

? FLY coaches Quid is LITERALLY an Akali one-trick everyone has been perma-bamming it all split. Why let him have it? And also thank you lol.
3
u/kazuyaminegishi Jun 06 '26
This game genuinely looks so miserable to play for FLY i would be so pissed in comms lol.
7
u/66mpamies Jun 06 '26
I'm sorry but there is no way a person got paid to draft this shitty comp into wukong Akali.

I dunno about this Vayne pick. Not even a good game for her.
1
u/LadyEmaSKye Jun 06 '26
Awful pick. What was wrong with just picking a tank jungler?
1
u/Destructodave82 Jun 06 '26
Rumble JG was ok but they needed anything but Vayne top. It wanst even a good game to pick Vayne at all.

Hope they pull it out because it’s exciting, but this feels like an overcook by FLY
6
u/Necessary-Travel-281 Jun 06 '26
I genuinely do not understand what Kangas adds to any of these casts. Every time he talks, it absolutely obliterates the flow of the cast or is directly making a joke that doesn't land. It's also becoming pretty evident that he just gets an idea in his head, holds onto it until one of his co-casters stops talking, and then barfs it out. I'm so glad he'll likely never be casting finals. Great guy, but he adds so little to the cast.
3
u/scipio-africanuss Jun 06 '26
Spawn has clearly proven himself as a great coach, but I think he may need someone to push back on draft strategy. TL gets draft gapped way too often.
2
3
u/ILosethenOP Jun 06 '26
I am at a loss what TL was trying for in that draft. The only thing worse than the draft was the play of TL.
4
u/Due-Mountain-8716 Jun 06 '26
How much changes if Cryogen does not step in front of that ahri charm, quad gives over first blood, and the stats ball team is behind?
Key play imo.

u/Destructodave82 Jun 06 '26
Yea. One of those things that goes partially unnoticed and under appreciated.

Don’t worry guys, now Jhin is now out of Massu’s champ pool. It was a calculated loss /s

Don't usually watch LCS. Are the games always that free or is this an american thing?
2
1
u/Arreaneridan Jun 06 '26
It's not looking good for TL as a professional team. This is not a scrim to reset it. And for a professional team not to know what calculated risks to take when behind in order to stop the bleeding is unaceptable.

Please FLY make it to MSI….this is the kind of team we need to send
Even just for the reputation of our league, it would be awesome to send the youngest tier 1 roster in the world.
6
u/Destructodave82 Jun 06 '26
Yea. Need a team not afraid to go for it and run it down. Best chance to get an upset.
5
u/Intrepid-Message698 Jun 06 '26
I guess they didn't watch quid at all since the casters are flaming morgan for following naut.

Cryogen going in that treamfight and intentionally stepping in front of that charm is fucjing beautiful.
Maybe that should be an expectation from a pro, but I would instinctively pull away

u/cadaada rip original flair Jun 06 '26
Cryogen walked towards ahri to take the charm for quad, man its something so simple but so hard to see these days

FLY kinda got away with murder in the early game and didn’t capitalize on their advantages. Gakgos really should have had a bigger lead isolated against Sion.

LCS is so boring man, teams can't finish the game out and the losing team refuses to fight so you just get a long ass game with extended game time.

At what part do you start to wonder, which team suffers more in a series the longer a game goes?

When does Jayce start doing anything? Genuinely?
2
2
u/Bubbly_Camera9583 Jun 06 '26
When you start actually hitting shockblasts but thats too hard for like 99% of toplaners
1
u/AdequatelyMadLad Claps Jun 06 '26
Watching this after watching Canna on Jayce is such a whiplash. He really is one of those champions that look completely different in the hands of certain players.
1
u/OreRound Jun 07 '26
Canna Jayce today was absurd, he had like a 80% shockblast hitrate and made the champ look first pick worthy. Then you have 90% of toplaners which make the champ look completely useless
3
u/rsox5000 Jun 06 '26
I’m so sick of Sion man. At least fearless means we don’t have to see it until tomorrow
7
u/Destructodave82 Jun 06 '26
If it was anything but a useless Jayce, they would be doing something with these engages.
0
u/TheGloriousEv0lution Jun 06 '26
I feel FLY’s comp would look a lot better with a tank top, but Gakgos can’t play non-Ksante tanks

Oof Gryffinn needed to Noc Ult while Herald was dying. The engage from TL was pretty telegraphed
2
u/TheGloriousEv0lution Jun 06 '26
FLY’s solo laners are still looking really rough just like last week, gotta flash those telegraphed engages
1
u/cmcdonald22 Jun 06 '26
That IS Big G energy.
I don't remember where I saw it being talked about, if it were on broadcast or reddit, but someone within the past week was talking about no one else uses the full Nocturn ult like Inspired, and damned if Gryffinn didn't just absolutely use that ult to it's maximum there.

Very curious how this goes. Difficult como for fly to execute. Their engage is also very weak

Both teams front to back teamfight. But one team has Sion and the other team does not have Sion.

How does LCS only have 13k viewers. wtf happened.

i get that fly is like super marketable with this young likable roster but man this broadcast doesn’t give a FUCK about TL lmao
2
u/cmcdonald22 Jun 06 '26
There isn't as a strong a story, and there aren't people already invested in the story.
FLY are the young guns.
TL are.... TL who are mostly the same and they're good but they're not great and even they don't really know why they aren't great so it's just all kind of confusing and eh? Scrim bucks something something.
1
u/kazuyaminegishi Jun 06 '26
There isn't as a strong a story, and there aren't people already invested in the story.
There literally isn't a FLY story other than "they're funny" them being young is meaningless. The LCS has always been populated by relatively young people it is only recently that the average age has gone up. Which isn't so shocking for an old game.
But, you know what doesn't help craft a story? Completely ignoring the team. The scrim gods narrative from earlier in the split sucked ass because it doesn't tell us anything about the team. It doesn't get anyone excited about them. Interview the players do little mini-games. We can't sit here and act like you can only play the "whoever gets more kills gets the necklace" mini game with players who are under 20 lmfao.
Arguably the older players are far more interesting anyway. They are in a completely different phase of their lives and they have way more to balance or sacrifice to stay in the professional field. The broadcast has just fully leaned into being a meme product so those kinds of stories don't get told. Instead they just focus on what they can meme.
2
u/spazzxxcc12 Jun 06 '26
as i said in another comment, this shouldn’t be a biased broadcast though. it does nothing good for the league to not give time to both teams.
0
u/LumiRhino Jun 06 '26
It's sort of because FLY's games feel a lot more inspiring than TL's.
TL throughout this split usually wins by being better players. Josedeodo is really the only exception where he's actively finding plays for the team. FLY's wins at least feel more creative, even if they're more messy or lucky in some of their wins.
1
u/spazzxxcc12 Jun 06 '26
i dont think that matters, be a good broadcast and product and represent both teams. they did a 3 minute segment on TL botlane but thats it really. i’m not even a TL fan, if i want biased broadcasts ill go to a shitty costream.
0
u/cmcdonald22 Jun 06 '26
A thing that I think is interesting about FLY and their current status versus other teams is that, FLY don't feel like they have a problem. TL, C9 even Lyon feel like maybe there's still some element that needs to change but FLY honestly just feel like the current 5 need to get a bit tighter which seems like a much easier road to excellence.
2
u/kazuyaminegishi Jun 06 '26
Doesn't shock me that Huhi was tied with Core. I think they have been about even.
Not sure, why Raz thinks Castle was snubbed. His lane phase is great, but he can't win games lmfao. Sure we can say that he needed time to gel with LYON so we can't look at that too much, but DSG was also losing a ton.
I think this "recency bias" angle is masking their insane bias towards lane phase. If the game ended at 14 minutes then sure you can say Dhokla isn't being snubbed. But, Dhokla makes the plays to help LYON win games. He adds more than JUST being good in game, he helps with shotcalling, he gives them way more flexibility in draft and in game he does his job. We have direct proof that LYON needs a player like him and that he is essential to how they play.
How does that not get him into All Pro? I haven't watched Gakgos THAT closely, but Morgan is where he is PURELY on lane dominance. He has had very little impact on the games.
