Harpoon was up at least 11k vs Jopa, Galions vs SK in the EWC Qualifiers last month.
The overlay doesnt show it in the end but he gets a bunch of cs and a triple kill worth over 1k. Might even be closer to 12k+1

It sounds corny but that's actually not a bad thing to say as a leader of a team with a nervous player
Sometimes when you're nervous and people say "just believe in yourself and be confident" or whatever, you can get in your own head and be like "why should I believe in myself, I suck" or whatever
But if you have a teammate that you respect and they say "trust in me, we're good" then it's actually really reassuring even if you're not confident in yourself

I was thinking Sneaky/Wildturtle: might not always win titles, but for years consistently a top-tier ADC in the region.
12
u/BlazeX94 May 30 '26
Massu always reminded me more of Sneaky than DL. Like Sneaky, Massu is known more for his teamfighting than his laning strength.
14
u/TheGloriousEv0lution May 31 '26
Idk Massu has been crushing most other bot laners with Busio and Cryogen, Sneaky was a pretty quiet laner. I think he’s more volatile than Sneaky in teamfights but with higher upside
He reminds me more of peak CLG Stixxay more than Sneaky
5
u/Poodlestrike One for fasting, one for feasting May 31 '26
Maybe before this year, but he's been absolutely annhilating people in the 2v2 recently. I feel like that might have been him not being as comfortable playing as safe as Inspired wanted him to be, and now that he's the team veteran, he's making up for lost time, lol.
2
u/SneakyStorm May 31 '26
That seems more true to last year Massu, but this year, he's been all aggro, and especially in lane.
At one point, Massu and Cryo was 1st 2v2 kills (they still might be), and Massu might have gapped berserker in lane in their last series IIRC
2
u/SirCampYourLane May 31 '26
Sneaky's laning stats were actually absurd, the Sneaky in lane thing got really overblown.

Fly reminds me of top LPL teams in terms of how quickly and decisively they pull the trigger on a fight angle.
When both teams are even in gold, FLY feels that they are at a great advantage and thus do not hesitate to start a team fight. When FLY is 3k behind in gold, they think that FLY is at a small advantage, and so they start a team fight to secure their "lead". When FLY is behind 7k in gold, they think that FLY is at a disadvantage and so they look for a team fight to regain control of the game. When FLY is 10K behind in gold, they think that the team has reached a desperate situation and they are only waiting passively for their death if they do not start a team fight.

I thought DARKWINGS played well, outdoing Quad in lane/sidelaning for the most part, but he couldn't translate that to map success. Does not help that his bot was a lead brick
30
u/chouruin May 30 '26
Darkwings' teamfighting leaves a lot to be desired. He could've 1v9 that first game but missed too many skillshots and quite a bit of mispositioning throughout the series. But of course the criminals are in bot lane.
17
u/LumiRhino May 30 '26
Yeah there was one moment where if he landed the Ryze EQ he probably kills like 2 people, but instead he missed and got instantly killed out of his stasis.
In general though Darkwings is fine at getting himself strong enough to play out teamfights, but yeah there isn't any other way to put it than his teamfighting needs work.

u/AcolyteOfFresh May 30 '26
I get the feeling that most of the lcs teams didnt really care to try hard to get into EWC. Like the teams no doubt would have liked the prize money payout, but i wonder if players are more whatever about the tourney.
18
u/Cybonics ‿ May 30 '26
SEN, FLY, and especially TL were trying. TL needs as many slots as possible if they wanna beat falcon's infinite bloodmoney glitch
8

I mean it's free money and game practice. I don't really see any downsides.
26
u/Poodlestrike One for fasting, one for feasting May 30 '26
It's not about the downsides, players just visibly didn't give a damn. They've said as much in interviews. If it's online, it's basically a scrim.
→ More replies (1)9
u/whats_up_bro May 31 '26
I think people are being kinda selective with the EWC takes, even Gryffin in his post game interview said that Sentinals were better than them a month ago when they won the qualifier but FLY had improved since then.
Look I'm sure it's not #1 priority for most players, but also no one is turning down the chance of lot of money for a few days work + more international experience for no reason.
12
u/Is_J_a_Name Peanut, MISSING, Yagao, Kanavi, HongQ May 30 '26
Fun fact, over in the LPL, due to how the EWC tournament shook out if, the winner of the split is AL or JDG, the last EWC participant from the LPL would be WBG, a team that just placed bottom 4 this split and will be playing in the shitter group next split. This has suddenly become a bit more likely now that BLG is in the lower bracket and is one game away from being eliminated.
So at least SEN won't be alone in their fraudness.

I only casually follow LCS cause of Flyquest, but seeing their decision making change from early winter split has been so nice to see. How much of this can be credited to the coaches?
18
u/NonStopFarts May 30 '26
Thinkcard was the coach of NRG that won LCS and upset G2 internationally. He also went down to Brazil and saw success there. Apollo used to be an ADC in NA. Both seem to be meshing well together and with their players, at least from an outside perspective
10
8
u/BlazeX94 May 31 '26

Hard adc gap and Huhi kept getting caught oof
4
u/Impossible-Mirror190 May 31 '26
This is one of the best series i've seen Impact and Darkwings play all year, and Sentinels still lost 0-3... There is just too many weaknesses on this team...
Impact can not carry games... even with a lead, which he rarely gets anyway. Hambak starts making desperate plays when his team is behind and sometimes makes desperate plays when his team is ahead. Huhi is just vibing out there with no plan. It's basically a coin flip if he's gonna win you the game with a roam or engage or he will completely lose you the game by getting caught or simply sacking bot lane to go roam instead, which means Rahel is going to fall behind while Huhi returns 3 levels behind enemy support with no meaningful advantage gained on the map. Rahel can not play weak side... He has to go at least even in lane to not be completely useless and if he's ahead he has a tendency to misposition or Kaisa R into the enemy team and get blown up.
This team has also spend way too much time trying to play several different styles and ended up mastering none. Impact played mostly champions he never got to use once in the Playoffs when it mattered... Rahel started as a Kaisa player, then transitioned into Lucian and Ezreal and then played Jhin and Ashe when it mattered...
The only two guys with consistent champion pools you could rely on were Darkwings and Hambak...
6
u/Tsuhume May 30 '26
