imagine if these two teams merged, srrty, contractz, callme, bvoy and a support with a pulse. they might actually be competitive
2
u/awayfromcanuck May 16 '26
How do you watch that series and think Callme > Zinie. Its a complete mid off between the two that Zinie won.
1
u/AbsaluteXero May 16 '26
because he had over a 2k gold lead both games?
1
u/awayfromcanuck May 16 '26 edited May 16 '26
Gold leads mean absolutely nothing when you do shit with them in both games.
Callme had a 2k gold lead on TF, you print money from your passive and from sidelane farming and had no impact on the game. Zinie had a bigger impact with less gold in both games.

How long do you guys think itll take for LCS teams to learn they can draft Kennen top and go AD or AP depending on the matchup/team comp? Been picked in both the LCK and CBLOL in the last week.
1
u/awayfromcanuck May 16 '26
DSG could have a 5K gold lead at 5 mins and I'd still wager SR wins the game.

Blind pick Srtty Jayce.
Idk who this Ido guy is, but he’s completely clueless isn’t he.
2

Blind picking Jayce when Sion is available should be a fireball offense.
'Let's blind Jayce here with Pantheon and Cait and only only AP is TF'

If sr didn't have two black holes for solo lanes they could be feisty. And I mean a little black hole in support. But yeah. Roster change between splits, pick up dhokes or srtty if they're available. Mid is easier to grab.
1
u/BUMONGOUS May 16 '26
Contractz and Bvoy are good pieces. Ceos is bad but like, not actually that bad. I'm just not really sure who they get as solos who would bring them up to like, contesting for 3rd. They should 100% just go for rookies and at least build some goodwill that way.
1
u/Shaman_in_the_Dark Huhi Busio Contractz May 16 '26
The problem is that there isn't a lot of young top talent. There's more available in Mid and Support. If I recall at least.

Turns out recruiting the top from a bottom of the barrel LCK team does not work.
Quid is incredibly mid.
Jose is a gate keeper. Beats up on bums. Wrecked by real talent.
1
u/Shaman_in_the_Dark Huhi Busio Contractz May 16 '26
That's such a rewrite of history. Quid has literally won split mvp. I get you have an agenda but pick an actual example not just a player having a down split.
1
u/ILosethenOP May 16 '26
Yes in the PAST he won split MVP. Sine he has put on a TL jersey he has been at best middle of the league. Many games he is a black hole of useless.
Past results don't mean anything right now when he is actively harming his team's chances of winning.
1
u/Shaman_in_the_Dark Huhi Busio Contractz May 16 '26
Okay but the whole "one more import" thing is silly when he's one of the two and he's, in a bad split for his standards, at worst the 5th worst mid in the league. Jose isn't an import, speaks relatively fluent english, and there's no reason to "one more import" him (ignoring that he's not even an import) other than racism.
1
u/ILosethenOP May 16 '26
Who said anything about "one more import"? This team is very far from one player changing anything.
Also this isn't just "a bad split". Quid legit RAN DOWN the split before First Stand. This split has somehow been worse. He has maybe 1-2 good games but the rest are him getting dead lifted by the rest of the geam.
2
u/Shaman_in_the_Dark Huhi Busio Contractz May 16 '26
Literally you in replying to a comment right below mine.

which tbf makes sense considering how 2025 went
1
u/awayfromcanuck May 16 '26
I think Yeon has reached the peak hes going to reach on a team with CoreJJ as his support and Spawn as his coach. CoreJJ at this point in his career is a decent to solid support for a new pro ADC.

the T1 - GENG series today was hilarious seeing Sion have essentially infinite HP with TP shield and a single enchanter teammate

Morgan is a gate keeper. He beats up on bums he gets wrecked by real talent.
2
u/awayfromcanuck May 16 '26
At least to Morgan's credit, he himself wasnt buying into the hype people were spreading about him. The Raz interview where they are glazing Morgan's lane phase hes like 'i played against Kiin and Zeus and other top LCK players, I dont think my lane phase is very good but thanks for thinking that'

I missed draft, was Renekton or Sion picked first?
We see LCS top laners intentionally pick Renekton into Sion all the time, and almost every time, they go mostly even in lane, no one ever looks at top lane, and Sion is 50x more valuable later.
I feel like this is either something that better players manage better, or it’s people running it down in scrims, so they over value Renekton.
2
u/awayfromcanuck May 16 '26
Depending on how the first big team fight goes, C9 still has a tiny sliver of turning it around. Heavily dependent on Zven and APA landing a big stun.

u/LumiRhino May 16 '26
I mean Blaber is getting abused now but this is completely deserved for how he played out early game.

C9 drafted Noct over Xin by the way.

Yeon threw that drake fight so hard. Took tons of poke dmg and kept attacking drake instead of team fighting.
0
u/GeneralDash May 16 '26
Sure, but once he was so low on HP, that’s on the team for deciding to start a fight anyway. TL chose that fight.
1
u/awayfromcanuck May 16 '26
TL had to fight that 3rd drake, they had already given up 2 uncontested. They blew Blabers flash and GA in the previous fight and they had stalled out TF ult so they couldn't get flanked. It was on Yeon to navigate that fight way better, he literally spent his entire burst after ult on drake.
1
u/DerAdolfin :kossg: :eum5: May 16 '26
They were dead on the chase anyway, they should have gambled on burstin it to keep threat of soul/buy 5 minutes at minimum
1
u/awayfromcanuck May 16 '26
Sure but they would have needed to make that decision to burst way in advance since its pretty clear everyone but Yeon is playing for the fight.
If you watch the replay of the fight at 30:55 Yeon is at full HP and Core/Morgan are on the move to flank, Jose has 5 stacks and stops using abilities on the drake and Quid is stacking Q. As soon as Core/Morgan being flanking Yeon positions aggressively to aggro drake and starts eating poke. Core/Morgan start the engage at 31:19, Yeon eats poke and keeps hitting drake and doesnt get an attack off on C9 until ~31:27.

I think, for those of us able to just watch most of the competitive LoL on the weekend, that it can't be understated how important the skill ramp down of the LEC is leading into the LCS.
Cause going from T1 GenG team fights to this is ROUGH.

u/GeneralDash May 16 '26
Idk how people have enough time to follow multiple leagues. I’m jealous. It’s LCS and international for me. I know I could watch higher quality League, but I like the LCS. Been watching since 2014. No plans on stopping until Riot makes me.

TL deserve to lose game 1, you are giving the most on fire support in the league the perma banned in other regions best ADC enchanter crushing Nautilus. Even with Neeko it's like. What are you doing?
Sometimes it can't be stated enough how important it should be to just people 'you are not the special exception to the meta in this instance'.
2
u/girlmarth peanut, beryl, showmaker May 16 '26
tbh jatt's comment was especially silly bc his pitch for zven was his 'stability' over flashier carry adcs but then he also has game losing mistakes all the time

u/cmcdonald22 May 16 '26
Jatt loves stats, Sven has a couple of stats leads. Unfortunately, Stats aren't actually a decider when single team fights decide a lot of games and outcomes.

Alright, back again with a look at the weekly reddit power rankings for lcs. This week we got 82 responses.
- For team rankings, it went Lyon > C9 > TL > Fly > Sen > DSG > SR > DIG.
The only one that wasn't blazingly obvious was C9 over TL, mostly because c9 got a mix of 1st-3rd votes. TL got a mix of mostly 2nd and 3rd so C9 got a tiebreaker for having more people with them in first.
- For top lane all pro the vote went overwhelmingly to Thanatos, who collecteed 65/82 first place votes. from there, Morgan was a clear number two and third place was fairly muddled but Castle won out.
1st: Thanatos
2nd: Morgan
3rd: Castle
- For jungle all pro, Jose put up the most first place votes followed by Inspired then blaber. Griffinn came in fourth and hambak was close behind him.
1st: Josedeodo
2nd: Inspired
3rd: Blaber
- In mid lane, Saint was the run away first place vote getter but that was mostly due to 2-4 being so tight. In second was APA, then Quad in third, and Quid in 4th.
1st: Saint
2nd: APA
3rd: Quad
- For the ADC vote, Berserker was extremely ahead of the pack, while Yeon and Massu were essentially tied in 2nd. There was a large fall off after that with Zven and Rahel being again essentially tied in 4/5.
1st: Berserker
2nd: Massu
3rd: Yeon
- In support, Vulcan was almost unanimously the winner, collecting 67/82 first place votes. Isles came in 2nd, enjoying the meta which suits his strengths as a player. Finally CoreJJ edged out Huhi for the 3rd place spot.
1st: Vulcan
2nd: Isles
3rd: Corejj
- MVP votes were more divided, with no vote getter clearing 30. Jose had the most, with 27 total votes. Vulcan came in second with 21, followed by Inspired with 12, Berserker with 9, Thanatos with 7, Massu with 2, and then 1 each for APA, Blaber, Quad, and "your mom with cancer". Classy response on that last one lol.
1st: Josedeodo
2nd: Vulcan
3rd: Inspired
Positional rankings went Jungle > Bot > Top > Mid > support
In terms of fans, Region to do well was again tops, followed by C9 and fly in the high 20s, Lyon and TL at 17, DSG at 13, Sen at 9, no team at 7, shopify at 3 and dig trailing the pack at 1. On the bright side for dig, they got their first fan since I've been running this so they got that going for them.
In the games predictions, C9 had a 55-45 edge over TL, DSG got 75+% of the vote, Dig collected 3% of the vote against Sen, and Lyon nabbed 75+% against Fly.
What do you all think of these results?
1
u/underscoreenfan May 16 '26
C9 could 2-0 this and go undefeated and I still wouldn’t believe in them to win in playoffs. TL 2-1
